Possible barn find....what could it be

Recovery...sorry that is all of the pics that turned out. David is supposed to let me know when the pipeline duece is going to be picked up. If it is when I am up here I will assist if needed and shoot some more pics. If it had been in better physical shape it would be sitting in my yard now :)...

Possible barn find....what could it be

The truck was a "pipeline deuce". David Doyle bought it and it is waiting to be picked up.

Quailty time with the deuce today.. Day 1

I have driven deuces with that type of air connection. Most trucks had an air hose as Basic Issue Item (BII) to inflate tires in the field. The connection under the dash provided more air than hooking the air hose to a glad hand at the rear of the truck.

    Wild deuces

Yesterday, while on a story assignment at a training area here at Fort Benning, Ga., my photographer and I happened across a pair of wild deuces (Truckus Gigantacus). We were able to observe them in their natural environment and I managed to get close enough to the male (they have the big winch...

    Chemical Shelter Trailers

Anybody know who the "go to" guy is on carbs for the 85 CI gasser engines on these trailers? I will be on leave all next week and if I could get a rebuilt carb I could try to inflate my shelter.

Pics of my rear electric winch install on the 5-ton

Very cool setup. 8) You could also use it to pull a heavy trailer to you when hooking to the pintle if there was not a lot of resistance.

    Parts?

These are old school, bullet proof (literally) trucks that were built to be maintained in a field environment. You can, with basic mechanical knowledge and simple hand tools, operate and maintain one of these trucks easily. The manuals are written on a seventh grade reading level and most of the...

well its not a deuce but you might like it

Lacoda.....I also remember Combat well when it was a prime time series. I spent many hours with my plastic Thompson "Chicago typewritrer"mowing down legions of "dirty Krauts" with my buddies. We kept ourselves occupied for hours at a time outdoors without video games or other modern amusements...

    Chemical Shelter Trailers

There are seven trailers left. All have the shelter but the door units are missing. Still sold as is, picked up at my place in NE Ala. The trailer and engine are worth the $900.00 asking price. PM me if interested.

    Chemical Shelter Trailers

Littlebob, WOO HOO......congrats man.....I hope I can get mine to inflated but being stationed at Fort Benning now keeps me away all week. The engine will start on mine but the carb leaks like a sieve. I have started scrapping some of the aluminum out but I still have not dismantled any of the...

    Opinions wanted regarding 3208 CAT

I like CAT engines, especially in big rigs. I drove a Pete with the 3406 and it pulled and ran great. I did not own the truck and was glad of it. CAT is real proud of their spare parts and labor if you have it repaired at a dealer. We refered to the local CAT repair shop as the "CATHOUSE"...

    5 Ton wrecker bed question

That sould be easy enough to fab. I would use the standard metal arch pieces on each side and you could cut the wood for the sides and top any lenght you needed. A standard deuce or 5 ton canvas would probably work if you didn't make it too high. The tarp needs to lap over the sides a few inches...

    5 Ton wrecker bed question

I have been in the Army, national guard and Army reserve since 1972 and I have never seen a wrecker with bows and canvas as Basic Issue Items nor have I ever seen one with them on. The boom sticking out of the back of the canvas would be a dead givaway. Plus you would have to take the time to...

M35A2 starter and "5 ton" starter the same???

You "jump start" an air start vehicle with another like vehicle. You hook the glad hands up and transfer air to the one that needs air. Many years ago a lot of the big freight lines (Roadway, Yellow, P.I.E.) used tractors with air start. That's why a lot of drivers never turned their trucks off...

    Chemical Shelter Trailers

The trailers are located in Alabama. I am helping a guy get rid of them that has no experience with MV's. He bought them at an auction a few years ago and just sort of forgot them and stuck them out in a field. He gave me a timeline to get rid of them. After that he is going to scrap them for...
