My truck was stuck at the beach & I can't get it started.

Absolutely right. Lot of good info here. Just not correct for the symptoms. There was some mention of smoke out the tail pipes relating to fuel flow but if the plugs aren't heating, then we can't expect any combustion and no smoke from the tail pipes either. No smoke + wet plugs sounds like an...

    CUCV issues

I am looking at picking up a m1008. I have been lurking around this site for years on the Deuce board but am just now venturing over the CUCV side. I read through the FAQ and have been poking around the threads here. I cam across a thread that was chastising some one for blindly jumping in to a...

    M35a2 in the Houston area?

I am looking for someone with a deuce in the Houston area that will let me climb all over it. I want to take a bunch of measurements and pictures for planning a purchase and project. Having all of my measurements ahead of time will let me budget out the project. Thank you in advanced to whoever...

Thanks for the advice! Thats exactly where I am planning to put the extra fuel. And I was just reading through some posts on adding the air-o-matic. I think after singles and air assist, the fording kit was next on the list. I have most of the tools already that I would need to work on it...

    New to the boards

Thanks for the info Rory. I think I will be sticking with the 2.5 ton. I don't want to deal with massive parts...more than whats found on the 2.5. I also don't want to have to deal with trying to find parts for something that is more rare. Just seems like too much of a hassle. I won't ever use...

Interesting. Even still, I think the comments about the size of parts and rarity have set my mind on the 2.5 ton instead. I don't need a headache on top of the project.

I know! I was surprised too! Who would have thought...everywhere else I go, that name is already taken...and by people who have no reason to! My name is actually Ford. So back off my username! Also, those trucks are beastly! I love them. The tan one is what I would like mine to look like...

    Deuce and www.steelsoldiers.com on SurvivalBlog

I have to agree with you stumps. I dislike hoarders and those that would literally do anything to survive and I too fear what some would do. For us in our small group, we are of the mindset of stocking up in case it gets bad but if someone outside of our group is in need, we would help them out...

    Deuce and www.steelsoldiers.com on SurvivalBlog

As gunboy1656 mentioned, I did find my way over from the SurvivalBlog post. I was, however, already a Deuce fan before I ever found SurvivalBlog. I saw some negativity towards survivalist/preppers and I just wanted to chime in on the prepping discussion. I started prepping at an early age out...

Thanks guys! nofearnohope: I just noticed today that I missed the rally last weekend. Better late than never I guess. I have already marked my calendar for the next one though :) Recovery: thanks for that bit of info. I had read others reporting 8-10 mpg but I guess with 1-3 trailers, 7 is...

Thanks for the info. I was thinking the same thing about size. I didn't realize that the 5 ton would be classified as a heavy truck so I definitely don't want to go that route. Looks like it will be the M35A2 then. Now I just need to take a ride in one and learn more about them...and find one...

    New to the boards

So I spent yesterday and most of this morning looking for some info but I couldn't really find what I was looking for. Basically, I'm trying to decide between a 2.5 ton and a 5 ton. I see the differences in the size in pictures but I was trying to find some discussions on the differences, pros...

Thanks for the doc clinto. Ill give it a good read. I have never been in or ridden or driven one before. Just seen them from the outside so I'm curious about that too. Hopefully I can find someone that will take me out for a spin. I'm also trying to figure out if I want a 2.5 or 5 ton. Im pretty...

    New to the boards

I'm Ford, from south east Texas. I found my way over here from a SurvivalBlog post. I have always loved the M35 (and MVs in general). I have been toying with getting one off and on for a few years now and am now more serious about it. So here I am looking for information, trying to figure out...
