Update: Truck was towed earlier this week to the N C Machinery in Mt Vernon. They said labor to remove and install a used engine that I sourced direct from another LMTV would be between $3,000 - 3,500. We should have an engine coming from Wyoming early next week.
Thanks everyone for the support!
I really doubt it. After I had the new line made we drove out about 6 miles with about 70% power and then THUD! And all the oil and coolant came rushing out. There were a couple sheared bolts as well. Not sure if the cam went flying forward or what but it's done.
This is the line the broke. It's a small metal high pressure ling. Evidently the sensor for pressure and temp are in the sump and so there was no loss of pressure or heat issues until we were basically out of oil. Pretty sure I dropped a valve.
First, hello all. Long time lurker.
We bought an M1079 and have been doing a lot of work and driving it a LOT over the past summer and this weekend that came to a screaming end when an oil line ruptured and subsequently so did our engine as we descended Washington pass.
Happy to elaborate...
