Thanks for the response. I will take some pictures of the install. I had not thought to do so but you have a good idea again thanks. There is a military kit on ebay right now listed for $475. I have 2 trucks to put heat in so I elected to buy an after market heater. I bought 2 MARADYNE 8030-24...
I bought an aftermarket heater and I want to make sure I connect to the right plugs on the engine. Anyone have a picture of the engine heater hose connections, or can someone with a 5 ton with a heater take a picture of the engine heater hose connections and send it to me? Many Thanks!!!
Lance thanks for the input, I will try and ask the guy selling the alternator. I am a little hesitant, his information is sketchy but the picture he showed me looks just like a Leece-Neville. I will try to find out if he know the amp output, but thanks again and I think I will take a gamble and...
Thanks for the input. I think I will take a gamble and buy it. I was a little nervous the information this guy is giving me is sketchy but the picture he showed me lookes just like my Leece-Neville. Again thanks. Joe
Give the old girl a snort of starting fluid and if she tries to start or starts then shuts off, it is not getting fuel. If it starts or tries to start then it is a fuel problem. Do not use the glow plugs if you use starting fluid.
I am in need of an alternator for an M818/250 Cummins. I found one said to be off an M151 and it looks the same by the picture. Does anyone know if the alternators are the same for both vehicles?
You can try the internet also, the filters are not military specific. They are industry standard items. I have used the WIX website to cross numbers and sometimes the part numbers in the manuals have extra digits and you have to try to cross them multiple ways. You can usually get filter...
Hello Ferroequinologist. Long name! Rather than rewire and risk problems I just wired some Receptacles on the front to make it user friendly. I think I have a mep 004 pic in my albums. I ran 120 to the receptacles on the left side and 208 to the receptacles on the right. Almost any device will...
Speddmon once again thanks for the reply and good advice!!!! I wonder if the generator could be rewired at the 120/208-240/416 plate to put out 120/240?
Thank you for the reply. You are quite right, 208 would be the result if I wire things as I had described. I have been doing some research and realized the result would be 208v line to line. I would have 120v line to neutral. I found out that the 208 would work for anything that requires 240...

Thanks for the reply! I am not planning to connect to the power grid. Just trying to provide receptacles on an MEP-004a both 120v and 240v just like any readily available generator would have. Any suggestions??? I have been reading up on phase converters and Buckboost transformers...
Anyone have any experience wiring regular generator receptacles (twist lock etc). My thought was to run the generator set at 120/208; wire from two of the L1,L2,L3 lugs into a main circuit panel just as wired in a house. One 120 leg from the generator to each main lug in the circuit panel and...
