Interesting! Though the M939A2 -24P-2 shows two different valves: two of one, one of the other part number. I found a kit on a well-known auction site and ordered same. Will report when I receive it and reassemble. Again, thanks for the support here and there.
Actually, I get two flashes from the HWY light before all five start flashing.
I disassembled my PCU this evening with the following results:
Used two 12v batteries in series for 24v and tested the three solenoids - all clicked as expected. Shorted my test leads momentarily and got a nice...
Thread hijack - CTIS issue... My M1081 didn't have a CTIS ECU in it when I got it last year. I installed one, but system isn't working right (why would I hijack this thread otherwise).
I'll have to check when starting the engine normally. But when putting shop air at 125 psi into the Emergency...
I like the looks of the safety tabs, but I'm thinking when I get my drive shafts done, I'm going to find some good old safety-wire drilled bolts and do it the old-fashioned way. Once learned, never un-learned.
Hmmm. Hello Kitty themed LMTV? Need this to clip into the rifle holder:

And that's why my handle is "Wandering Neurons"...
How about a custom hub adapter so we could bolt on an aftermarket wheel? I'd pick a good tractor-trailer wheel such as this:
https://www.iowa80.com/pd/4-spoke-stealth-sport-leather-steering-wheel-18/155343/
Or adapt FMTV hub to another hub used by a common make/model like Freightliner or...
Actually - I've got the old beat-up wheel. Maybe I can machine out the hub and use it as the base to install an aftermarket wheel! That would open some options....
Yup, checked out your site several times since you started posting. I'm a little far away to visit though I'd love to see some of your hardware (Southern Maryland presently).
I've replaced my M1081 steering wheel with a much better condition original military one. But I'd love to get something...
Don't just tease us with a picture of the improved steering wheel! What did it come from, or where did you find it? Is there a direct interchange with a particular truck or something?
Thought: A nearly foot long bolt came out of the alternator toward the front of the motor. What's the possibility that it got flung into the spinning fan, damaging (then breaking) the blades?
All of this would explain the missing bolts on my alternator when I picked up my M1081, as well as the...
I've used my local John Deere tractor shop for soft lines, mostly power steering on the M1081, and hydraulics for my RV. But got it done right then and there, no waiting.
I'm looking to put a regular light bar (yellow) on the roof of my M1081 and was wondering the same thing. Some sleuthing turns up the following:
The plug on the back of the cab is 12v and ground - will have to see what the polarity is. The part number from the -24P is CA3100E10SL-4S-B-02...
Many moons ago (around 2003), I owned an M35A2 in Tucson AZ. Emissions testing on a chassis dynomometer at that time. The local testing station couldn't handle that size truck, so they told me to go to the far side of Tucson, where they had a dyno big enough for semi's. That didn't fly when I...
Thanks all for the comments and PMs.
I saw the figure $650 per axle from Bryce.
Is that a complete center section, drop in like a Ford 9" rear?
What do y'all use to remove/install the center section, in lieu of the transmission jack?
How much does Bryce charge to swap both front and rear?
And...
Can anyone PM me Bryce's contact info? I don't play FaceBook (or LinkedIn, or any other social media). I'd like to ask him a few questions about the high speed gears. Thx
Not air ride, but I picked up a pair of Honda Civic SI bucket seats. Some grinding to remove the old SI seat mounts, some creative bracketry, and they're mounted in my M1081. There's a little interference fit between the engine bump and the cab reinforcement, but nothing major. So much more...
Confirmed! Pulled left and right upper plates, pulled shim packs. Looks like the basic three shims were installed on each side, about 0.018". Without the shims, based on -365-34-2, I'm measuring nearly 1/8" of clearance with the upper plates snugged to the point of barely binding. About...
Latest update: Finally got the time, gumption, and 3/4" air impact gun, to start tearing the upper and lower king pin plates loose in the front axle, both left and right sides. Got the tie rod removed. Right side: pulled the bolts on the lower plate, no change, but didn't pull the plate off yet...
