So, I have this M51A2 with the LDS. It had sat for some time so when I got it, it was not running. Prior to it's slumber, it was a dependable runner.
I found that the fuel shutoff rod was frozen in the pump. I pulled it out, took it apart and freed it up. Put it all back together and...
Hate to sound like a broken record but there is a section in TM 9-2320-211-10 that explains all of this. It's a free download if you haven't done so already.
They work real good Frank. I busted 2 lugnuts loose on my M108 using the pig, 1" impact and 1 gallon 12V compressor powered off my golf cart. Took lots of time for the little compressor to restore the air but it really worked.
I don't think adjusting caster is part of the singling out process. I've had a dozen deuces or more and each one had it's own unique driving characteristics. It will be the same going back and forth between singles and duals.
It's great that they didn't hack it up to put the tanks on there. Looks very original and very dry. I think I'd clean it up a bit, maybe refresh a few markings and enjoy it as is. Great find.
I'll be darned. The deuce uses the same size inner and outter and all the LD stuff I've worked on had the same size. Living and learning every day.
The normal locale for the pioneer rack was on the side of the bed as in that pic you showed earlier. I like that tucked away location. I have...
Glad you found your pioneer tool rack. Is it actually bolted to something? As far as front axle service all inclusive post, you can find that info in the TM too.
Regarding air hoses. I have the inflator hose in my box along with a regular air hose to run other items. I got tired of...
Most parts houses will sell these parts. It's important to have them search for a 1984 K-30 regardless of the year of your truck. When I get a chance, I'll dig up some part numbers for you.
My suggestion would be to look up the GM part numbers in the -20P or -34P manuals and start an internet search from there. NOS rubber stuff isn't all that great. Those manuals are available free in the TM section
Edit, here are the manuals you seek. The ones ending in 20P and 34P are parts...
My guess is that the mileage is correct. I've not seen too many M1010s with high mileage unless it came from the civilian sector. With that said, once you start driving it more frequently and it goes through many heat and cool cycles, some leaks might occur. I suggest searching the site for the...
The lever pivots near the floor. When the lever is all the way up, everything is disconnected. From there you can depress the clutch, move the lever forward and down and release the clutch gently. The bed will rise. Once the drive is engaged, you can cycle through the functions of the...
I would do an internet search of pioneer tools and rack. Cabell Garbee did a nice write up of these items on his site. I've not actually laid my eyes on that site for a decade but it's really good.
It's a 1 ton frame for sure. I'm perplexed by the front axle since the ubolts look untampered with. UNless, they rolled it in with the leaf springs attached. Does it look like the front leaf spring bolts have been tampered with? If the rear axle is original, it will have 4.56 gears. Looks...
