Welcome from West Virginia. I can't answer your 5 ton MTV questions but, I've had my LMTV for a couple years now and love it. The ride is comfy and not too bad on the highway. A little under powered but a Cat dealer can probably fix some of that for you and the mountains here in WV doesn't help...

In the mountains the little Cat is under powered already with the low gearing it has, empty. Take the gearing higher and put some weight on it and you're gonna run the kitty to death and the Allison will constantly search gears for a happy spot, all this builds heat, wear and tear. I wanna try and make it at least one day this year but schedule is hectic. I WOULD really like to being the HET down but that would a long drive at 45mph. Lol. And a refuel or two. There is a key chart on here that will tell how your truck was configured when it left S&S per s/n. Maybe it was green then painted camo or vice versa? Dave

Yeah, mine was Land Rover as well. Took driver side handle to locksmith and he made me a key to work. As luck would have it the passenger door was keyed different and I had to take it out and to him and he done it to match. Dave

Yeah, I usually put a bundle (with extras) in the loom then tape the loom. It doesn't "coil" up as much and easier to get into later if need be.

Spend the extra time to put wire loom on the cable if it isn't already loomed from the manufacturer. It's a long term life saver. Dave
