for further information,I was considering buying a non running(dropped valve) Caterpillar 955L crawler loader (on craigslist),but considering the replacement parts cost($3700 + including core charge),plus the cost of shipping it(considerable),I decided to pass.
Evening folks,
I am putting out feelers for some possible assistance from a local or close to Waco,GA wrecker owner.
I may need a roughly 36,000 pound, non running piece of tracked equipment winched up on a trailer, I have several double sheave snatch blocks and several 3/4 chains I will bring...
Well,I got the M54A1C cable finished this morning, and cut, pulled, spooled and installed the 280 feet of cable on the M62A1 this afternoon.
Only 3 pictures.
The 760 feet of 5/8 cable arrived yesterday, brand new US made!
I got 200 feet measured out and installed on the M54A1C this evening,I'll finish the winch chain on it and take pictures of the cable on the wrecker install tomorrow.
I also contacted an individual about another M51 dump...
One of the reasons I ditched the electrical gauges and switched to this..

Update to my previous post,
I will be bringing the M54A1C for sale and not the Gama Goat,as I already sold it.
I also have 16 Gama Goat wheels with tires,4 or 5 have 50% or better tread with no weather checking, the others just hold air and I would not recommend for road use, $400 for all 16.
I purchased and installed 4 new group 31 stud post batteries for the dump and wrecker, plus finished adding the JD cornhead grease to the winches.
I also had to change a fuel tank on the dump truck(pinhole leak I found after I filled up the tank!) ,plus swapped a level wind assembly on the dump...
Well, time once again to bring another thread to a close,
I loaded the M561 Gama Goat on a shipper this evening, bound for it's new owner in Arizona, hopefully he will enjoy it as much as I did the short time I owned it.
Below are all the filter numbers,WIX numbers are indicated, any good parts house should be able to cross them over.
Full flow oil 51133
Bypass oil 51503
Primary fuel long canister 33511
Primary fuel short canister 33080
Secondary fuel 33090
Welcome to the world of the Mack powered trucks,I'll go ahead and tell you,NO ONE carries that particular J pipe for a 5 ton,the Mack engine in the 5 tons was and still is a rarity,so not many dealers stock parts for them.
I have had to make all 3 of my J pipes for all my A1 trucks,it's a 3 1/2...
Not that I am aware of,I highly doubt that coming from Oregon(lots of logging going on there over the years)that they would sell less than quality wire rope.
I will update this thread when the spool arrives next week.
No,no further projects, just decided to knock out some major bills, hard choices had to be made.
I may stop selling after the M54A1C leaves, just not 100% sure yet.
$1.36/foot
I ordered it from here www.westechrigging.com
Definetly not local,Oregon, long ways from me,but cheaper than any supplier close to me,including shipping!
