I would mark the shaft before you pull it apart. I’m sure it was balanced and if you get it together wrong or out of phase it could vibrate. Maybe Humvee is different
I thought the caps unscrewed? I had one that did but it was on a Chevy truck. What if you removed the zerk fitting? Could the negative pressure and grease be making it harder to pull apart? Probably dumb idea..
I don’t think I would’ve listened to wifey. What good is an after storm emergency vehicle that needs everything changed before you can use it for the emergency? I think I would have removed it and drove it back home after water went down. That’s saltwater I would assume? If you could get a do...
I didn’t add the pro on it when I searched it. That’s expensive…. I would like to have my run flats shaved down. I’m working on getting a set of Baja ta’s and some 24 bolt wheels and I don’t really want to put the run flats in but I do want something to keep them on the bead
Mine runs it just needs a tire. I found a 200amp generator from a member here but I can’t afford it this month. I need to look into the brackets and what else it will take.
I couldn’t find a voltage regulator for 400.00.
I really want to do the 200amp swap but I don’t know what I will need to change as far as brackets and wiring. I probably won’t have the 1,200 to get a 200amp generator until the 1st. I need tires also and I’m broke.
I went thru 2 belts before I got rid of my squeak. Like you said, sounds like it has to be a failed bearing or something mechanical. I put a new belt on it and it stopped for a while. I couldn’t believe that another belt would fix it. I was getting ready to throw expensive parts at it to fix it...
What is the inside dimension of the pvc? I found a 6’ long joint that was like 15 1/2” inside if I remember correctly. I like the stand it up idea that Mogman suggested.
