    Charging System upgrade (?)

Constructive feedback: I agree with Skinny, keep the electrical system stock or switch it to a documented 12 volt conversion.

    Interior lights

In my M1009, I put 3 rows of LED lights on the ceiling. Wired them to come on with the light under the dash. Illuminates the entire interior of the vehicle. In the M1008 I have a single LED light fixture that has a switch on it.

I believe that is a 24V Zener. Not completely sure, once I get a chance to check what the part is, I will advise.

    Wiper Switch

Looking at the pictures from NAPA and Classic, and doing a search on NAPA, I would venture to say that the NAPA WS6040 is the correct one. You want the switch for Non Tilt and Non Intermittent wipers. Classic Parts Wiper Switch

    cucv glow plug card

I doubt that the black wire is part of the GP circuit. You will need to trace it out and see what it is connected to. Once you get all the new parts installed and the glow plugs tested, let us know how it works.

    Cucv glow plug wiring

Congratulations Jake, you found one of two errors with the drawing. The + side of the temperature sensor is the one that is not tied to ground. I also noticed this mistake a few years ago but never thought it was worth mentioning. So to clear things up: The .8 BLK wire should go to ground and...

I measured it once a few years ago, If I recall correctly it was around 9 amps. I would use a relay rated for 30 amps.

    New Guy Question

It sounds like you have a few non-functioning glow plugs or the glow plug relay is bad. Check the voltage on the GP relay terminal with the Orange wires. It should be around 12 volts when the relay is closed. The second item to check is the resistance of each glow plug. Disconnect the green...

    M1008 - electric setup/glow plugs/loose cable

All Orange wires at the GP relay should be on the Glow Plug side of the relay. The diagram in the TM is incorrect. Attached is the correct version of the glow plug circuit.
