I am in for lunch, and this is how I left the M1009. I am going back out to work on a few other things and I will do something moving forward on this project today as my goal. I want to hang fenders, but the grass is growing so fast I can see it moving. Any of you guys ever remember using a...
OK I have all 4 tires and wheels removed from the M1009. I know it is again, but life happens. I don't know the age of these tires. I know the one is an MTR Wrangler I wore out myself on an M1009. The MTR's I ran till they were bald and worn out. I never had a flat with them and I wheeled the...
Get them working now. The voltmeter has nothing to do with it. It seems you have a loose / poor connection at the back of the printed circuit board or a loose corroded socket. Check everything and make everything work before reassembling the cluster. That is why I like to let the housing...
This is proof positive that it does not take long for horizontal surfaces in a garage/barn to attract residents. Less than 48 hours and I now have 2 new patio umbrellas. I pushed the M1009 back and forth a bit and centered it in the garage for progress to begin. I swept the garage floor and...
Stay Thirsty means I will be bringing more progress for you to absorb. Take Care. I have a few attachments on my body to work with but I am getting it done. Thank you for the positive support. The negative support is welcome also. Just don't expect me to absorb much of the negativity. I am way...
I was on a roll today. I feel good and motivated. I had to start a wood fire in the house it was 45* and I worked in the basement a few hours. I fixed 2 jacks for trailers. I am getting good at rebuilding the Bulldog jacks. I bought all the parts I needed from etrailer.com
After I was done with...
Behave yourself, Tomorrow is Mother's Day. I wanted to get all my work completed today so I can rest after a long week of long hours. After overhauling the jack from the M1102 I went out to install the jack. The trailer tongue was too heavy for me. I thought for a moment and BAM. I shoved...
This is old news. This is the condition of the M1102 trailer jack when I bought it. I disassembled the entire jack. I cleaned everything and had the handle straightened in a press. I ordered a new tin cover plate from etrailer.com and replaced the bent twisted cover plate with a new one. I...
Not really. I had it 18 years and it had 1900 miles on it when I bought it. I was tired of fixing things all the time and the rust was coming aggressively. I replaced every body panel on that truck while I owned it with Genuine GM parts and the main cab started rusting in the roof line, cab...
Can someone tell me if these LED lights are compatible with stock M1102 taillamp buckets? These look like they get flush mounted and I don't think they will work for trailer lights with the flat back. Just a question. Can anyone enlighten me on these lights. Thank you in advance. I am trying to...
I am glad all the heavy work is completed. could have said all the body work is completed but I have a mystery dent on the left door that needs repaired. say mystery because no one knows how it got there. I have a hunch but to keep the peace and harmony in the family I remain silent. No proof...
The 4 red LED slits are marker lights and work on black out as parking lamps. The center amber lamp in the middle works as a black out brake lamp. I hope that answers your question. Up front each side has 2 amber slits as park ID lamps. Take Care.
It was a long hard struggle after 2 weeks and a few minor and a few major projects I was forced inside because of rain. I managed to get my shop cleaned up and all my tools accounted for and put away. I managed to sweep and blow everything off and get the project unburied from using it for a...
Getting involved in this no injury accident may have saved you and others. Blocks never go on front suspension. NEVER. https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/131-0708-4x4-front-lift-blocks/
I would be thankful that this happened without injury or loss of life. In Pennsylvania we have annual safety...
That is the shift arm for the transfer case on the NP208 C. That was NOT rebuilt.
This one was rebuilt. That seal is available at NAPA. Getting all the leaks fixed on 35+ year old vehicles is a full time labor intense job. Good Luck. I found changing the seal will work sometimes. But never all...
This yoke has no flange to center U joint. The C clips do the centering like an M1009 was designed. Clips on inside of U joint caps.
This yoke requires no C clips and is self centering when the correct U joint is seated inside the flanges.
This is an example again of the Clip yoke that is stock...
The rear U joint on the m1009 has the snap Clips on the caps inside to center it on the yoke. Same as the driveshaft. the snap rings are on the inside. They are NOT out side.
This is just an example. The M1009 requires the internal snap rings to keep the U joint centered in the open yoke.
The frame has definite damage. If put on a frame machine, it will show a diamond shape with the left being back further and the left front rail is bent downward. Frame machines were made to correct this type of damage. The rivets have stretched the holes in few of the crossmembers and will need...
