Don't want to hijack the thread further, but here's the TM that's here on SS already). I'm pretty certain this is the same little booklet I got (I'll know in the morning).
And here's the part that I got wrong. It says "Short as possible" and I may have remembered it as "not extended". Keep in...
I'm gonna see if I can locate it online first. I'm not really set up for flat bed scanning at the moment and the manual has some water-damaged pages. But if I can find it in digital format, I'll get a scanner and deal with it.
Sure thing.
The chains are still in the boxes and never opened.
The feet just have different-sized holes/pins for various vehicle/mounting eyes.
And I'll snap a pic of the TM page with the "do not extend" details...
I love the look, size, weight of the Ibis Tek ones. But I've read some horror stories about them...
That said, we did manage to break one of the arms with my first one of the steel telescopic towbars doing a recovery. I'd borrowed feet and we started our first turn out of the yard. The yard...
I had one of those in the garage with no feet. I'd been keeping a eye on the auctions for feet and scored a complete NOS set (bar, four sets of various sized feet, and the chain/bumper mechanism (that's a $3000 scalper value for only $190). ;) Inside the crate was the manual, the first I'd...
I'm sure you already know it (but I didn't until I got the towbar TM for that model) but those telescoping towbars are NOT meant to be used in any of the extended positions (which makes me wonder why they even have all the extra holes as they simply become weak points). Only tow with the bar...
Yeah, I need to pop the sample port open and pull a sample to find out exactly what's in mine. It's and A1R and has a red tint to it. I suspect it's ATF but want to be sure. General Disorder has the same truck as I have. It's coming up on 10k miles and I'm going to do a full service on the...
I certainly wasn't suggesting anything that was $300 (that's what the scalpers are raping people for the old pot metal NOS junk handles S&S used). I'm sure the same scalpers are getting $300 for the Trimarks by tossing them up on their sites as "super rare LMTV door handles". LOL. The new...
Rgr all.
Most of the time, when someone does that they go to the dark side and start charging other community members 2000x the cost of the part. Because <insert reason about supply, demand, cost of renting a warehouse or junk yard, blah, blah, blah>.
I tend to favor the $50 civilian...
^this
It's a fairly simple mod to upgrade to a A1R-type handle. I bet almost half of the A0 trucks out there have or had broken handles. The old style are simply a poor design for the angle of pull combined with the amount of force used to open the door (ie: it's a weak "handle"...period)...
Yeah, I'm going to take a stab at it just because I need three sets of bushing for my A1R cab. I think I can justify the expense in my case (not so much that I want to do it but there simply are no other alternatives). I don't mind paying a fair price for something someone actually makes, but...
Which TM?
Heh
I suck at finding shit in the TM(s).. Searching for "figure 251" or "item 78" = 0/0 results
As far as posting pics, in the "compose message" window, just above the window for text are some icons. About mid way is the "Insert Image" button. Then just drop your image into the...
