I can't get the wrench in there because of the fan so I'm assuming I need to remove the whole alternator in order to remove the pulley. Is it normal to be able to spin the nut and shaft by hand?
I have an impact wrench and a socket that fits the nut. I had to park it behind my store so I don't have access at the moment to take a pic. The nut seemed extremely tight but you can move the pulley back and forth by hand
That's what I'm afraid of. I'm not too proud to admit I may be in over my head with this particular repair. I'm just getting into these vehicles and what I don't know far surpasses my knowledge. I've studied the TMs but that only gets you so far without some experience
The pulley is bouncing around and making a heck of a racket. On top of that the belts are jumping off. I suspect I need to replace the pulley but I probably lack the expertise to do so. Can anyone give me a hand soon? I would be in your debt and would definitely compensate you for your time
