Got the passenger's side torque rods completed, time to move on to the driver's side...UGH. I found it easier to just remove the leaf spring pack to access the 2 recessed torque rod bushing nuts. These 2 were by far the most difficult to remove...I had to loosen the nuts out to where the NAPA...

Looks like we'll have to paint on Friday morning, due to the chance of stray thunderstorms Thursday afternoon.

You gonna have a dressing station built in, for whatever you bag while hunting? I'm thinking a swing-arm crane in the back with a hand-crank winch...but then again, the light-duty 12V winches from HF are pretty inexpensive, and handy.... :jumpin:

Of course, while moving the Band Wagon from behind my fence several weeks ago, I was in a rush and didn't notice that the driver's side mirror bracket got caught on my metal fence...it ripped the fence out of the block wall mooring and tore it up pretty good, but what really bothered me was that...

Only disconnected and stored inside while we were working on it. It's in good shape and worth re-using.

And this morning in the sweltering heat I primed the body as thoroughly as I could, starting on the roof and working my way down. I only ended up with a couple of runs, I'll sand those out in a day or two so the CARC 383 acrylic Behr paint will go on nice and smooth. We'll give it at least a...

Stripping the paint off of this monster is something I NEVER want to repeat. There were so many layers of paint, and many many rust spots underneath the paint, that stripping the entire body was the only way to go...otherwise it really would have looked like crap. Here is the van body stripped...

Airbornebandsman brought the repaired Band Wagon back over to my place yesterday to get some work finished on her. I finished welding up no less than 14 (yes, FOURTEEN) sheet metal patches I cut from an old splashguard to repair rust holes in the roof....there were cracked & lifted fiberglass...

For the past few days I've been reworking my "new" battery box (courtesy of JCKnife) to fit my 3 civvie batteries; each battery is 750CCA and all 3 are matched. 2 will be placed in series for 24V and the third battery will remain solo for my 12V circuit. I've got the brackets from TM America...
