B-22's
That's. Just. Cool.
Where would the thread/pics regarding this particular recovery be located?
Catch 22 was an AWESOME book. (Read it in 9th grade). Gonna have to get the movie.
Welcome to the site! While I cannot think of any negatives for using your deuce as you want to, here are some of my own observations:
Reliability. With proper maintenance (and they aren't too awfully maint. intensive) your deuce should be very reliable.
10k of cargo capability on-road. Bet...
Most importantly, don't forget to keep plenty of invectives and curse words handy! Also be prepared to get that sheepish feeling when you near the end of the project, try to fore it up and rwalize you forgot something basic (like hooking up the battery.) (Not that I've done that or anything....
Very good advice. As far as the plugs go, do you mean on the light side or switch side? If it'scon the light side, if I don't mark them, I experiment until it's right..... Kind of a pain in the rear if you are by yourself. Have someone in the cab switching the lights on and off.....
While I would NEVER speak against a deuce (I love mine, I love mine ((I keep repeating that)), the Unimog is a good vehicle for what you have in mind. Have you thought about a CUCV? I am currently in love with one and am trying to talk the owner into selling.... Good luck.
And as far as the...
HEY! My leaves are magic leaves.... not only did I find the lights, but also the toggle switch AND plate to mate them all up.
See the "My Wife's Gumbo ROCKS" thrtead to see how I mounted them.
As far as the toggle plate, that was buried in the mud next to the lights. The beauty of using military lights and mounting everything the way I did is I know some states "dissaprove" of rear facing floods. If called on it, I can always say the military put them on! Not only are they bright, but...
Sounds like a fine plan. Driving it tonight though, I really didn't have issues with turning. Mainly it was backing, but I have resolved that issue (See the thread "My wife's gumbo ROCKS!"
But that’s not the point of this thread.
The other day I added reverse facing lights to the deuce (see “European Style Blinker” thread). One of the drawbacks was that the left one flashed in my face and made backing the deuce (tough under best circumstances, what with the green light and...
Came across a set of European blinkers and as I was doing other things to the deuce today (fixing door latch, fixing window seal), I figured I put them on and see what I thought.
Removed the wire cover from below the fender, wired them in and voila! I have new blinkers.
Prognosis: I'm going...
