My MK23 Pintle height is 40 inches. It’s been a while since I made the measurement, but I assume its to the center of where the ring would sit. Goodluck with the new purchase.

Micah, I had seen that kit you referenced on Flea bay, but was unsure as it didn’t specifically mention MTVR or MK23. Can you confirm this works for our trucks? I noticed on one of your videos that your truck had a new chamber on the front. Thanks again for your help.
Dirk
I’m looking to source Front Brake Chambers for an MK23. Are all (4) chambers the same P/N ? Anybody have a NSN, Oshkosh P/N or MGM (OEM supplier) P/N?
Thanks in advance.
Dirk
I’m still looking for a P/N or a source for the drivers side seat belt (the portion including the retractor). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dirk
My driver side seat belt on my MK23 is acting up. The retractor wont retract. Any P/N for the new replacement ? Searching online yields several different belt units, listed as including MTVR but none appear to be correct.
Thanks in advance,
Dirk
No worries Tim, I’m eternally grateful for the gracious help provided on this for I’m. I would be lost without it and maintaining these trucks would be so much harder without you guys.
cheers,
Dirk
Jon, I was able to borrow a dipstick out of another MK23, and the fluid level was topped and showed no evidence of having any water. I’m planning to do a complete drain and filter change just to make sure.
thanks for the help guys.

Thank you for the welcome Mullaney. I’ve been a member for awhile but haven’t posted much. My first MV was/is an M45a2, which led to an M923a2, which led to the MK23. Yup, I’ve got the sickness.
Very timely post. I’m looking for a tilt deck to haul some heavy equipment. I won’t be hauling frequently, but need to be able to move my equipment offsite if faced with another forest fire. The fires in Oregon this summer struck close to home, doing significant damage, including burning a...
That’s a great question. The first place I looked was the vertical fill tube and I thought the dipstick was missing from the plug. Then I realized that was just the fill tube, and found the horizontal tube that exits behind the cab on drivers side. The tube is there but the dipstick is MIA.
I took delivery of a 2003 MK23 this week and overall I’m really happy with the truck. It was purchased thru IP by a local civil construction firm that bought nine of these trucks to convert to water trucks. Their plans changed and they sold off all nine trucks. They all came out of Yerma, and...
Tennmogger, I can't tell you how many hours I have spent reading this forum in the last couple years. What a treasure trove of knowledge and help. I'm grateful to all those that have posted their experiences and also thankful to you folks that worked to help me thru my knucklehead period.

OK Guys - I'm a Dork.
This morning I drug my buddy out to look at the truck. After a few minutes, he diagnosed that the noise was coming from the left u-joint body contacting the axle housing. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks. I didn't have the steering arm tightened down yet, so the...
Thanks Bachman, You are correct when you say I bought this as a tool, as I was originally just looking for a water truck to keep water on my property in case of forest fire. I had no prior MV experience, but when I found this thing on Craig's List I drug a buddy of mine along for a six hour...
