Anyone put a camper on the back of a 7T MTVR?

We are right there with you. We are considering all options at this point. One of my brothers suggested cutting away the bed, leaving the torsion-free under structure to mount the box to, doing away with the storage "trunk" and giving us the ability to mount the box lower on the vehicle, to the...

Anyone put a camper on the back of a 7T MTVR?

The springs appear to be straight rate, and there is no progressive linkage. It should be linear.

Anyone put a camper on the back of a 7T MTVR?

That sounds like about 3,700 pounds per inch. At that rate, we'd get a little over 2-1/2" or so of sag.

Anyone put a camper on the back of a 7T MTVR?

Yeah, I'm measuring about 5'6", and all four corners of the rear suspension are topped out on the rebound bump stops. I'm wondering how much sag I'll get with 10,000 pounds in the bed...

    Original tires from 2007

Those pics are kinda small on my phone, Wes. What are you showing me there?

    Original tires from 2007

Understood. I'm learning that. Recently? Did they have cracks? Wow...I'd sure like to avoid a situation like that. That's certainly something to consider. I suspect that our usage will probably be at the other end of the spectrum- our next tires will probably age out before they will...

    Do MTVR's have runflats?

Well now, that's pretty special... Sounds like I would be better off leaving the solid rubber ones in the old tires, and buying normal beadlock inserts for my replacement tires...

    Do MTVR's have runflats?

Is that what our runflats look like on the 16.00R20 tires? Like the one partially visible on the far left? What is the procedure for removing and reinstalling them once the wheel halves are out?

Purchased MK23 with no engine cover (doghouse)!! Anyone have any connections?

You mean the little black plastic doghouse inside the cab, or the giant fiberglass tilt nose?

Anyone put a camper on the back of a 7T MTVR?

It appears that a standard 8'6" container would make the truck higher than the legal limits, so we're looking into other options...

I found correct-sized wiper blades that work for the MTVR:

I know there is a part number floating around on one of these threads for 15" wiper blades that fit, but the stock ones are 16", so I kept looking, and found these. I ordered them off ebay, for $18.95 for the pair, including the shipping. They have an NSN number of 2540-00-140-9816 and a part...

    MTVR TM's

I have found an MTVR operator's manual, an Allison manual for the transmission, and a Cat manual for the engine, but I too, would like to have a complete manual (or set of manuals) for my MTVR.

    Do MTVR's have runflats?

Anybody got pics or video of the runflat?

    Do MTVR's have runflats?

Dang. The MK23A1 is RTAA (Ready To Accept Armor), but mine is an AMK23, so it was originally built with armor. Sounds like that means I'll be wrestling run-flat inserts, instead of just the black rubber band type beadlock insert...

I have family all up and down Highway 35, mostly around San Marcos.

    United States of Freight ++++

I dealt with Nick, and I have absolutely no complaints. He did exactly what he said he was going to do, he did it on time, and the communication was stellar. We had a minor challenge (not Nick's fault), and he went above and beyond the call of duty in offering to get it resolved for me. I...

    Original tires from 2007

So what do you guys think? My current tires, which likely have runflat inserts in them, appear to be the original tires, with date codes from the summer of 2007. They have only traveled 3,443 miles, but are now coming up on 13 years old. I am not an expert in using old tires, but from what I'm...
