I had the same thing with my Deuce when I bought it. They just get sticky form sitting with out use/movement. Just spray some lube where the cable attaches to the pump, and rotate the valve back and forth that the cable pulls with some pliers. It should free right up.
It's always the same type of people that work at the chain discount auto parts stores. None of them are "parts guys" their just "Cashiers".
My wife dosen't know the difference between a carburetor and a starter if you held both of them in front of her, but she could do just as good of a job...
Thanks for the idea:-D:-D
Bought my Pineapple-Grenade today, in town at the army surplus for $6.25.
I welded shut the 1/2" hole in the bottom and then drilled and tapped it to size. I painted it tonight so I cant "post up" untill tomorow when it's dry and then I can install it.
I drove the Deuce and trailer home for $3200. I don't know if that's good or bad, but that's what I got into it.
"The thing in the barn?"
Thats my mud bogger that I put the 2 1/2ton axles under, that came out of my first Deuce.
Let me get this right, they had to rivet a tag to the cab, to let you know that there was seatbelts installed?
Wouldn't the seatbelts in the truck, already tell you that?
The truck looks good with the new rubber. With the radiator out front like that, it makes the truck look much older than what it is, kind of antique'ish.
Everyone seems to agree, so it looks like I'll be doing the leather then. I figure I'll even throw in some extra padding when I recover them. ( can't have too much comfort, ya know)
When I contacted my brother about getting some fabric, I figured I'd either get some black or maybe a...
I guess this falls into modification/hotrodding.
The seats in my Deuce are in poor shape (ripped and torn) so my question is, would it be "too much" to re-upholster them in leather?
My brother is a manager for an office manufacturer here in town and I asked him if I could get some fabric for...
Because it's a Canadian trailer and not a US made trailer, does that mean it's not that special/rare or desired?
The reason I ask is I was going to bob the Deuce and use this trailer box for the conversion because it's such nice rust free shape.
A friend of mine owns a tranny shop here in town, and said I could have all the used tranny fluid that I want. I just have to give him an empty barrel to replace the full one if I take it. He has a full 55gal. drum down there now for the taking.
If I filter the tranny fluid first, can I run it...
Sorry it took so long for pictures, the "SS" site had a glitch, and I got locked out for the last five hours. From the plates, I guess it's an M-102 chassis whith a M-104 body? If you want a close up of anything let me know, the trailer's just out side.
Hi guys, I just bought a deuce this past weekend and it came with a trailer. I assumed it was an M-105 trailer. But now that I'm home and got to looking at it, this one has tail gates both front and rear. Was this an option for a spicific purpose, if so, what was it?
Thanks man....for the help, and the invite. I drive right by you on M-37 on my way up to Baldwin, to go to our cabin.
This the first Diesel that I've ever owned (so I don't know much about 'em)
I take it that the "Engine Stop" is just a hand pull cable that closes a valve in the injector pump...
