Do we know if the 350 is a stock 350 ? if not it probably makes more hp and torque than a 6.2, in my 88 burban it moved quite well with a 350 and 37 inch tires.
First put the axles on jack stands, and take the wheels off, you can repair the springs and plastic caps by just removing the king pin caps. you might need to use the floor jack to put the knuckles back in alignment. its not hard at all to change them out.
8 inch is over kill imo, I flex the **** out of my M!008, I run a stock rear shaft and a longer front shaft. i have about 5 inches of lift but i run shocks for an 8 inch lift. but if your gonna wheel your truck do cross over steering. Look at my lift thread for ideas.
