Hey everyone,
I found these CTIS wheel valve diaphragms early last year on eBay and purchased several. Although, these are listed as, "Oshkosh MTVR CTIS Diaphragm Wheel Valve Seal MK23 Rubber 7 Ton LMTV M1081", I can verify that these are the exact same diaphragms that fit the FMTV CTIS wheel...
Hello everyone and Happy New Year.
Well, I don't have and enclosure for my MV and for awhile now I've been looking for covers for the tires/wheels for my M1083A1, Myrtle. I want to protect my investment I have put in my tires and wheels from the sun and weather. At this time I have the...
Well, I finally got myself a shelter for the bed of Myrtle, my M1083A1, to convert into a habitat. I've been looking around for ideas for the build and looking at numerous videos. I seen this video today of a build, but what got my attention was the interior of the cab. They even have a...
Hello everyone, I didn't want to hijack anyone else's posting so I'm starting this one. If this needs to be moved somewhere else, okay. Sorry if this thread is long but I want to get out as much info as possible.
My truck is a 2002 Stewart & Stevenson M1083A1, 3126 Caterpillar. I purchased it...
Just seen this video about the conversion of his M1079A0. Nice cab upgrades. He has more videos on his build.
Just thought this maybe of interest, maybe not?
My mud flaps (splash guards) on the rear are deteriorating (checking and flaking) and one was torn. Was looking to make some new ones out of conveyor belt material, but I found these new flaps/guards. The NSN and part numbers match and these are the updated or newer model.
I found them here...
Putting new tires on. While wheels are a part going to blast and paint wheels. When I took the valve stems out of the wheel I found that the seals or gaskets have degraded and need to be replaced. I look in the parts TM (FMTV M1083A1) and it just shows the valve stem (#33) with the seal on it...
Been looking for the CTIS wheel valve rubber diaphragms and can't find any. Didn't see anything on the parts spreadsheet. I don't even have a number for them.
Is there a diagram of the valve itself showing the internals in the TM's? If so I must have missed it.
Anybody know where I can get...
A few of the flange nuts to attach the two wheel half's on my 2002 M1083A1 were missing and a couple were a little messed up. The TM shows the flange nuts are, NSN 5310-01-210-0199, P/N 12301125.
I ordered some nuts off -b-y and the pack came with the manufacture tag that matches the TM, NSN...
While working on the engine a couple weeks ago and trying to get it to start I found that the fuel tank pickup was semi clogged and not letting enough fuel through.
I checked the fuel tank and I found that the pickup tube was damage where it threads into the tank. It looked like someone stripped...
I got my M1083A1 I found that the cab lock latch was leaking. After sometime I got the correct latch repair kit and fixed the leaking cab latch. I wanted to rebuild the air/hydraulic power unit but have been unable to find a rebuild kit as of this thread.
I filled the manual hand pump and the...
I did my first major cleaning of my M1083A1 cab and found a lot of trash and some parts. I found this part behind the drivers seat between the seat and the storage box and could not figure out where it goes or even if it goes to this truck. I looked at the TM's to check and see if I could find...
Finally, a proud owner of a 2002 Steward & Stevenson M1083A1...
Well, finally after 10 weeks of waiting I received an email yesterday from GovPlanet that my EUC for my 2002 M1083A1 was approved.
Printed off my release today and was able to find a local tow service to tow it 38 miles to it's new...
On the MTV, the front left side mud flap, rear side closest to the battery box, what are the structures attached for?
Is it for holding something?
Couldn't find it anywhere, but I am blind in one eye and can't see in the other!
Thanks!
