Hi,
I know this is an older thread but hopefully you are still active. I had the same problem with my unit and took the injection pump apart and cleaned everything up just as you did and also experienced a runaway. What did you change when assembling the pump to correct the run away? It is just...
I have cut off what was left of the body and now I have a naked MUTT. Time to work on the frame and then build a tub style body that looks stock on the outside. I want to do a resto-rod build and drop a Toyota diesel in with other updates.
It is an uncut body and it is awesome that Cameron Mfg. is making high quality panels!! Finally a way to fix up a 151 without having every piece of fab equipment. I love tools but I have champagne taste on a beer budget2cents
I took more pics today while working on the rear body panel and pass. side rear corner. The pics do not show the good (The subframe is pretty good)
While knocking in the sheet metal she shed a ton of rust:tigger:
Thanks for the feedback,
I just cant kill it, I have a full shop and good skill set. It may take a LONG time but I think I will work in it, especially when I am frustrated with my day job!
I have decided against a restoration, I am going to keep the original body lines, military look and the...
Yesterday I picked up this early M151 before it went to scrap. It has pop up floor drains and the underside is not too bad except for the front cross-member. I know there are some re-pop panels out there now I am trying to decide if I am going to go stock, semi-tube frame or sell it.
I am open...
I like the winch kit! When is the GA rally? I may bring my medical gator down. I am installing a military Go Light spotlight, siren and strobes soon. I am also working on a full cot mount for the bed. I have also ben sketching out a full roll cage to replace the ROPS. I need to make a canvas sun...
JD recommends Hi Guard hydraulic oil. I have full M-Gator A1 tech manual I will upload soon. I also have a good new JD parts source.
The gator cruises at 20mph max and is a blast to drive.
Engine from 2001 and 2009
Various parts
**Use only hydraulic oil or JD recommended in transmission, if you use gear oil the brakes will lock up(The brakes are housed in the transmission) if gear oil has been put in transmission drain it, fill the transmission with clean diesel and run the unit...
Various pics or tear down and rebuild
The engine was missing the valve cover, starter and some bolts. I had the head pressure checked and a valve job done, pulled the oil pan and cleaned everything. After a lot of detail work I reassembled everything. She started right up and runs super!
2009 M Gator A-1 rebuilt and in service as an off road ambulance
The med bags, back board and other equipment is made by North American Rescue for the military
I replaced the John Deere seats with low-back racing seats and 5 point harnesses. The seat covers and harnesses are not installed in the...
I like the motorcycle battery set up too! The 4HN batteryis not my friend!. As stated above pull your cable from underneath the skid on the terminal side. Both of my 701a's take a minute to settle into stable power
It is pretty cool, it was about 17 degrees out the other day and I had 30' of large duct running to the crawl space of my office. The metal connector on the far end of the duct was almost too hot to touch. I had to back the burner down.:burn:
This unit has 5 sections of large duct 10-12' long each and 6 sections of small duct 10-12' long. Also has 3 adapter plates to go from large to small. Only needs two plates. All of the duct is pristine. The whole heater is in super shape. Puts out 250,000 BTUs. Some people don't like them...
I am the guy who pulled it off the trailer and then drove it in the video posted by Lightning. I had never driven a tracked vehicle before, could not read chech and almost jumped out of the driver compartment when the air pop off let off some pressure. I also accidentally turned on smoke...
