Question for the crew here, can you put the HMMWV wheels and tires from an M101A3 on an M101A2 / M116A2 (flat bed/generator)?
I couldn't seem to find a direct answer for fitment/rub issues other than papakb saying he has ran "HMMWV wheels and tires on my M101A2 for years without any problems."...
April 07th, 2024:
I want/need to buy new tires for my M101A3 (and for one of my generator trailers), but I figured in the mean time, the tires I have hold air and would work for a generator trailer sitting in the driveway. I "borrowed" the very nice (like new) tires from my green MEP-803A...
You lived here before I was a twinkle in my mother's eye. Roy is just a little north of me. I'm sure it was nicer then, but I wouldn't say it is bad now just a lot more people/way more crowded and I-15 was a lot smaller then too.
The state has just built a "West Davis Corridor" (State...
I found a warmer day when it wasn't snowing or raining for me to take the top off the green 803. (Utah has had a very wet second half of winter) water supply in January 04th, 2024 vs Feb 16th, 2024 (percentage totals based on the average Snow Water Equivalent from 1991 to 2020)
A pretty...
Thanks Jbulach! Sorry for my delay getting back here. Without digging through history, if I recall I paid _significantly_ less than those units are selling for now. However, that is still less than the cost of buying even just 1 new from ExtremeOutback. So saving ~$500 off the get-go is nothing...
Thank you for the investigation. It is always curious what the history of the machines are and who did what/when. Whether a previous owner put that fuse in or it was that way when surplused, all I can tell is that the fuse looked old. (I suspect most likely is a used/old fuse was put in to sell...
Thank you so much Guyfang and Kloppk (and everyone else too!) for taking so much of your time to share your expertise here. I sincerely appreciate it.
I did open up the top of the control panel, well, partially at least, because it was REALLY stuck down to the right side and I didn't feel like...
I am not sure. The other side is largely unreadable, but that doesn’t look like “FNQ-R-3” to me. Looks like it starts with an ‘A’. Hopefully potentially the wrong fuse didn’t damage the Voltage Regulator or something else.
I tested the old fuse (the one with red text, obviously) and it was open circuit, no continuity. I replaced the fuse with an extra fuse I had purchased from kloppk (I wasn’t sure if orientation mattered so I inserted it the same way it was on my green 803).
I now read 124 VAC on the convenience...
From the convenience outlet I get 26.67 VAC. If I enable the A/C breaker, I get 26.67 VAC between L1 and Neutral and 25.9 VAC between L3 and Neutral (on the terminal lugs)
Thank you so much. Beside that procedure to test the A/C interrupter relay (K1), I do need to pull the control box top...
Thanks to Guyfang here, Potomac Rubber was able to sell me the air filter gaskets! Though the gaskets were a special order material and Potomac Rubber only sold them in full sheets. So I could buy the small quantity I wanted or I could buy the whole sheet and it was the same price. Well, so I...
October 28th, 2023:
I replaced the Green 803's trailer plug with a NOS one from eBay. I still need to test the wiring as I discovered that the trailer harness had two lines both identified as "21A". Of course, I only noticed AFTER I unplugged all the old lines from the original trailer harness...
If anyone cares, the holes in this voltage regular will fit a #10 screw, but the riveted threads on top are for 6-32 machine screws. I would say I purchased longer screws on purpose but the local hardware store didn't have 1-3/4" long, pan head 6-32 machine screws, so I purchased 2" and added...
The o-rings I purchased from Amazon were NOT a good fit. They were too thick and I could not get the oil strainer to seat:
Searching around I found WH&E HARDWARE STORE on eBay sold genuine OEM o-rings but they were NOS.
Yanmar Part Number: 24341-000224
These were noticeably thinner but...
Not surprising, my air filter is dirty, in need of replacing, and the pre-filter is partially falling about.
The air filter consists of two parts, the interior paper element in the metal housing:
Yanmar P/N 114250-12581 (958142)
And the Air Pre-Filter, or the outer foam cover:
Yanmar P/N...
As mentioned earlier, for easier, and less messy oil changes, I received and installed an oil drain valve:

‘N’ for the extended nipple for a drain line, so don’t forget to buy the 3/8” clear vinyl tubing too.
It was a close, but...
Yessir, there are. There are two screws and I believe one is the bleeder for the inlet and the other is for the outlet (but I'm sure you know that, ha).
I also received my order of Yanmar fuel filters I purchased off eBay
Fuel Filter Element w/ O-Ring Set: GS-3021-1:
Fuel Filter Element...
That's the thing, the fuel filter doesn't appear to be some aftermarket part, it is a Yanmar part - though said part could still have been put on later, but the 686 Tan paint on the filter housing matches the rest of the unit... :shrugs:
At least this filter housing also appears to be...
