How well does AC in the MTVR work?

Newer versions of install instructions. Has some better detail - especially in diagrams of connectors and pins.

    From fire truck to MTV

I have cruise/set/res wired correctly, and cat see cat ET registers all 3 switch positions correctly. I wired a relay to cut the cruise on circuit when hitting the brake. All that works as it should...just can't seem to adjust speed while in CC.

    From fire truck to MTV

Another weekend out making memories! Highlight was the trout stream. Noticed cruise control doesn't let me increase or decrease speed once engaged. Normally clicking set/resume would increase and decrease speed by 1mph but this didn't work. Holding seemed to error out cruise and had to cycle...

    So the MTVR adventure begins

So.... If you were missing your dash vent pieces, take a look in your vent panel. Looks like a bored Marine was pulling out 223 bullets. This was also in the air vent.

    Subframe question

Looks like the classic YouTube drama for clicks. We've been in some high winds in a the MTV, noise is the main thing. Yeah it can rock a little bit no big deal at all.

    MTVR Manuals

"Whine" is not really descriptive. Air will release from the quick release valves. Yes the system can take a long time change pressure as these are high volume tires. Increasing pressure will take longer if revs are low as the compressor is spinning slower. If the light eventually goes solid...

    Subframe question

Being that it's a unimog I wouldn't be surprised if it has one of those torsionless subframes. Post up the video and we can take a look and see if there's other information to get from it. I've not heard any issues with people with spring captive subframe mounts.

Just won an auction - M1088A1

I read that I worried the same. Learn from my mistake. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/dealing-with-issues-due-to-half-assed-ctis-engineering.221606/

    Lmtv CTIS PCU Solenoid PN

Can you post up the OD, ID, height, coil resistance? Can probably cross reference something.

    Lmtv CTIS PCU Solenoid PN

Nevermind....it shows the 5 solenoids as a "harness". Shouldn't be too hard to figure out, you have the ID, OD, height, voltage, I bet digikey will have some options.

    Lmtv CTIS PCU Solenoid PN

I I think there was a parts break down in the MTVR manuals, they likely have the same solenoid.

    So the MTVR adventure begins

Have a family of 4 so needed 4 seats! All are 6 point harnesses, the jump seats automatically fold up, making for easy access to the under seat bin. Driver's seat isn't air ride but is height adjustable.

    LMTV registration in WA state

Really hope the armor issue changes, else very little will be available in the future.

    M1078A1 fuel starting issue

I'd get the ether lines fixed. They will suck unfiltered air into the intake.

Thoughts on removing coil springs on A1R

Just get that, make a vertical slice and cut to length. Easy peasy. Note they can cause more harm than good, they hold dirt. There is a reason no motocross have them on the forks or shocks anymore. (They do have shields from flying debris though.)

    From fire truck to MTV

It would be a good idea, just haven't gotten around to it yet. I'd like to have a shield both to prevent branches getting in there, but also it's a wind block so the fan is not getting hit by 70 mph wind for hours when on the highway.

    From fire truck to MTV

Another weekend trip in the truck. Finally got around to installing cruise control and makes the trip a lot more enjoyable. These switches fit the cutouts perfectly. Also installed a vent switch so I can either pump air from the habitat to the front cab (for pre-warming or cooling) or to the...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Junk is big and heavy....if only, my wife says otherwise. Nope I haven't. Best info I have is the little tire whiskers on the new tires, they all wore off very evenly. When going low pressure all the tires bulge out the same - best as I can eyeball.

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

But I don't want to go slower! I don't really care about the mpg (too much). Running in the 80s psi, I forget the exact value (I think I copied the 1088 values). It cruises nicely at 60-65, well 70-75 too but I "feel" like going that speed may be getting into the unsafe category. We aren't in a...
