Ostrich skin would clash with my elephant hide combat boots. I can’t argue with your installer requirements.
How about having to choose between LizardSkin and kilmat / flashing?
...kit). Then for rubber mats, I picked up a couple of off-brand solutions off Amazon that do the exact same thing for a fraction of the cost. I'll hang sealed wood panels covered in marine vinyl.
I think the only "name brand" part I purchased was the Dynamat hoodline for under the...
...in the back to make towing possible. The tank got upgraded to a larger one from M939 (without the PTO notch) and the cab was insulated with dynamat and painted from the inside. I have air ride Bostrom seats in the cab. I'll post more pics in a week or two, once the cab is painted and alpine...
Whats goin to drive the 6 kw head ? And i used HEATSHEILDPRODUCTS you might check them out to compare prices and when i got banged up i got the 99 bucks a year walmart unlimited delivery deal for groceries and thats the best money ive spent lately maybe i will never have to go back in there...
So many of the things I intended to purchase for the build are not available since the pandemic.
I went to order a bunch of Dynamat stuff, but most of what I needed isn't in stock anywhere.
I need a tapered-shaft 6KW generator head. Haven't found any new in stock after three years...
...the Navy and performs excellent in a number of YouTube comparisons I’ve watched.
Another big benefit is it acts as a sound deadener (think dynamat or lizard skin). Although they don’t have literature on it I’ve read a number of reviews on this site about how well it works. 2 birds one...
Continuing conversion of my M1152A1 (2 seats) to M1165A1ish (4 seats). Covered rear tunnel area with 3/4” rubber mat, over 3/4” plywood, over 1/2” solid foam insulation, over Dynamat. Trimmed with 2” aluminum angle.
...removed all the nasty floor mats and tunnel insulation.
A good friend who did this extremely well advised me that he used two layers of Dynamat, one specifically for heat, and another for sound. He then used 3M double sided tape to hold in marine carpeting on top of that. He advised only...
...or whatever they are called. They are green and look like they are made of some kind of foam.
For my next project, I want to install some Dynamat type sound insulation under them. Of course I can use a razor blade and cut them out but I want to be able to reinstall them afterwards.
They...
I coated the inside of my 6.5TD doghouse with dynamat, or an equivalent, and reflective tape, on top of the factory supplied insulation. It made ZERO difference. That thing is LOUD.
YMMV. Bulldogger
Installing Dynamat to mitigate road noise. Also installing 1/2” solid foam insulation and 1/4” rubber matting. Sourced 4’x8’ insulation from Lowe’s, rubber matting in a roll from Tractor Supply. Have used the 1/4” rubber for many applications throughout the Humvee build. Ordered 72 sf of Dynamat...
Although not free, thought is relatively inexpensive when compared to mistakes.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with in regards to interior lighting, and frankly, everything else that you do with your truck. Of course it's just my opinion, (and we can all agree that that's...
...the underside, and if I have enough, the entire exterior of the back wall (which will then get painted over with a color coat). I also have dynamat foil backed foam to line the underside of the engine tunnel after it gets the coating.
I have a SPL meter somewhere. I've been on the lookout...
...4. The insulation on the inside of the hard top is shot, old and crumbling. I'm thinking of scraping it out, cleaning the area and replacing it with some type of Dynamat or similar heat and sound deadening. Again, any suggestions would be gratefully appreaciated.
Thanks in advance.
Nice! I was looking for something. My Deuce had mats that were so disgusting and torn up that I did not even keep them (but should have to make measurements). They caused a lot of rusting, so I repainted and used truck bed liner to paint the floor. Now I am thinking of putting some nice mats to...
I used lots of Dynamat under the floor and over top the transmission on my Deuce to keep the noise down a bit and it did a very good job on both the noice and the heat coming from the floor. I wouldn't hesitate to use it again, by the way I think all of these products are very close in both...
I don't recall anyone mentioning DynaPad, but there are some threads that mention Dynamat and its competitors. Best results in my observation are when the install is done with major components removed and clean/clear body panels. Comments on whether to do it inside or underside vary as well...
...by the roll. I had been going this way with the M1009(s) to give a quiet decoupled limp loaded mass on resilient padding foam over a KillMat/Dynamat damped floor pan and firewall, which still would be cleanable with a hose. SEM does custom colors for their flexible vinyl/fabric/carpet...
