Funny how you can't get thrown out of a topless/door less vehicle if you're wearing a seat belt. I've never once felt unsafe in any Humvee or Jeep without doors, but I was always wearing a belt.
That's awful for the guy driving, but was entirely preventable. RIP
There's one on my local marketplace that has two perfectly punched rectangular holes in the driver side rocker. It's a clean truck otherwise, but damn that forklift operator certainly made a lasting impression.
Too damn long, but it's a government operation so I guess we should be happy we're getting anything at all.
I'll never buy directly from them. It's worth it for me to spend a little more on the private market and get my new toy immediately and have the paperwork handled same day.
I'd hardly call it a scam. To be clear, there's no issue registering a Humvee here in MA, but if you have an LLC in Montana you might as well use it and save on sales tax and no inspections.
I suppose if the state you live in refuses to title your truck, and you title it in another state, they...
Correct. No games, no gimmicks, all 100% legal.
Owning an LLC in that state classifies as owning a business and being a resident of the state. It doesn't matter if my operating costs are nothing more than what it takes to maintain the LLC itself.
When I did the Montana deal, I called my insurance company directly (not my local branch) and explained to them how I had my business located in a different state than my personal residence. They said it was no problem at all, and set it all up right over the phone.
I have plates, a title, and...
The way around that is to open an LLC in whatever state you're registering through. Certain states will view you as a resident if you have a business there, which allows you to register the vehicle under the LLC itself. You can even bypass sales tax.
It's pretty sweet.
