This site helped me determine which military trailer would work with my JKU. I picked up my M101a2 last night. I hope to get ideas on hooking it up for use as a cargo trailer with kitchen, cover, drawers, and rack of some sort. Also wanting to apply undercoating and a bed liner.
There are some big changes for 2020, so you need to read this. There will be a “too long, didn’t read” section summarizing the changes in Post #2
Welcome to the 2020 Georgia Military Vehicle Rally (20GMVR) Official Info thread.
This is our 14th annual event. If you've never been, watch this...
I was kind of thinking the same thing regarding the speed factor, but I hate to mess up the aesthetics of the 1083 pulling its 1082 trailer! That 8.3 would be earning its pay pulling a loaded van body plus loaded CK.
I've hauled the kitchen and the bathroom unit on my m322 trailer behind my 923.
Either truck will be fine towing it depends on what the trailer you use and how heavy it is. The 934 has a 10k box on it so it will be slower than the 1083
I'm talking about the US Army Containerized Kitchen (CK) unit. That's its official nomenclature. It's a 20' long expandable ISO container used for battalion level feeding operations mounted on a tactical chassis trailer.
Yah that flying kitchen unit has seen better days!! That's a pretty sweet set up they had for kitchen unit, in the newer truck the kitchen is on trailer that open's up like the truck unit.
LOL.. I'm sure you'll get the attention of more than a few txter's with that horn.
Do you happen to know...
This may not be the correct forum, if not, please let me know where to best post this.
I have a 40' sea shipping container (Conex) filled with personal household stuff. It is sitting in a field which is now mostly loose sand (NOT MUD) and any conventional truck is absolutely going to get stuck...
Thanks for the lead on the canvas and I might be interrested, though I'm still leaning towards green to stick with the trailer. For the moment I've gotta be uber careful on the "investments" save my super supportive fantastic bride revokes my kitchen pass indefinitely :D
This year will be very similar to last year’s event, obviously the date is 2019 specific. So, if you’ve attended the last few years, you probably know what you need to know.
We'd also like to take this opportunity to thank our 2019 sponsor, Memphis Equipment, for their assistance. Without them...
Knob Creek will be the first place. We will have quite the setup. My M923A1 pulling the M989A1 with my S250 shelter on it. My buddy will have his with his M989 trailer with his S280 shelter in it. I will set up my GP medium tent and another friend will bring his MKT kitchen. We have a bonfire...
I pulled an MKT with a 3/4 ton pickup a few hundred miles.
For those not familiar that is a Mobile KitchenTrailer that uses the M-105 frame.
I used the offset hitch thingy with a pintle hitch to make it ride level
Even without trailer brakes I had no trouble stopping but I always left plenty...
I'm in the process of converting my M373A2 into a RV/Rally camper. I have a lot of pictures and will start a build thread when I get a little more done. In the mean time here are a few pictures to start out.
The trailer was your basic storage type. There were no windows or electrics added and...
More great info
I actually looked at the Eastern Surplus pages and saw those. Seems like the one I posted is inbetween the lower priced one and the higher priced one.
The M416 seems like a perfect fit but will have to sit on my hands for a bit and keep an eye out unless I'm feeling frisky to...

Thanks for the warm welcome and suggestions, everyone! I really appreciate it.
I haven't looked into the 5 tons much at all yet. I'll spend some time on that.
Red bull group? Sounds fun! I think I have some googling to do...
That is a nice looking truck! I'll definitely research it...
Just got a MKT-85 KitchenTrailer at Ft. Bragg and need some help getting it picked up. I live in SC so getting up there during the week is a bit of a challenge. I can come get it from your place on the weekends. I also work up at Bragg occasionally but right now I don’t have a trip scheduled...
