I am reminded of the Glider Pilots of WWII. Their primary role was following the tow plane, tripping the cable release, and then performing a successful (typically crash- ) landing. Once that mission was complete, they were pilots-turned-infantry and had to morph into a completely non-aviation...
I actually have no idea what that bracket is for.
But I've just got to add this: "It's there to make young troops ask questions..... Now carry on."
:goodjob:rofl
Congrats !
What an outstanding restoration project.
Now we're anticipating the NOVEMBER 2019 initiative to be created!
I encourage ALL of you who didn't win this month to take another run at it.
Winners' vehicle entries have "term limits" and cannot compete against you again .... There are so...
Um....
Need we remind you that you're in a very capable 6x6 military vehicle dragging an equally off-road capable trailer......

But FENCES.... And TREES.... Now THEY can be obstacles !
How's this for a slightly modified C-130..... with STOL capabilities!

Heavenly Father,
You have called home one of this brotherhood. Please cover his family, friends, and all who grieve his passing with legions of Your angels. Lift the burdens of their hearts and bring to them that peace that surpasses understanding that Neil is now with You. Thank You, Lord...
Hmm...
Yeah, MANY rushed to judgement saying that the space program was doomed to failure too.... long before the first THE RIGHT STUFF was ever filmed.
Fortunately, others waited until the fruit was on the tree with both the NASA program and the first film before they started judging what was...

By the way,
WELCOME ABOARD :) Find a bunk, Stow your gear, and Prepare to get underway :driver::driver:
APPLAUSE !
Sounds like you've got our winter plans all lined out.
By the way.... Why do cats just LOVE to play with MV parts and climb all over them too??? Do you think they fall for that camo deception???
My twitchin' votin' finger has spasmed on ONE and cast my ballot.
To y'all who this month are the runners up, PLEASE re-submit your MV's in future competitions. So many are worthy. It somehow seems unfair that we must choose just one from many.
Not exactly low flying... but BEAUTIFUL ! ! !

I encourage you to use that impending date as leverage to motivate by potential public outcry any elected, appointed, or hired official to GIT 'ER DONE! No bureaucrat likes that sort of negative fallout to be looming over their governmental employment security.
Still praying from Texas for...
Thanks to you and Wendi for your contributions and support of TOYS FOR TOTS ! Semper Fi !
....and Ho-Ho-Ho!
As I recall from my prior Toys For Tots involvement, those magnetic signs you mention may be available from the TFT Online Store. Wendi may be able to order them on her national account.
I have just re-read the entire Restoration Thread linked in the quote above.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that y'all go read the whole thing as well. We should all have such talents and dedication.
Yet, that twitchin' votin' finger of mine STILL is wigglin' between choices this month.
I am in awe of this outstanding project.
This truck is in the October 2019 MV of the Month competition.... https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?191522-Steel-Soldiers-MV-of-the-month-2019-October-VOTE-HERE!
It will be tough to beat.
My twitchin' votin' finger hasn't yet pushed any buttons on this month's ballot.
By the "process of illumination" I'm trying to "shed some light" upon the best choice.
This month's stable has some fine thoroughbreds in it..... Such a tough choice!
So... Candidates, please CONVINCE me who...
The video in the original post states, "The first 8x8 ever designed."
Here's a bit more about GMC's exploits in 8x8 and other vehicles, including the XM157.
