Are you still using an intank fuel filter or did you splice one into the line near the carb? My gasser was set up with an inline filter and a electric fuel pump. I installed a new mecanical pump, just have to run new lines from the tank to the pump. My truck moves too.. same problem, no brakes...
Kenny, Could have been anything from bad front end alignment , a dragging brake, or... I had a similer problem towing a duece with another duece. I could all just been that wonderful maint from them highly trained mechanics the army has LOL before anyone starts the grief train, I been there...

every m44, m800, m900 series trucks i've driven or ridden in had a sticker that said, "open dampers before operating heaters" i thought that ment the vents on both sides of the truck by near the floor. that would solve the fresh air requierment ;)

I drove a dually CUCV at fort campbell. it had a custom flat bed with a I beam with 5 Ton chain hiost fro loading and unloading the two 5Kw Gen Sets attached to the flat bed. It was fun to take in the mud :D:D
for a few bucks.. ok, more than a few buck, you could convert to a dual voltage generator. the new humvees have them because they come with electronic transmissions and some other 12v accessories.
