Thr starter button was missing on my Duece and the truck was fine.

The last farm tractor I rebuilt I did the turbo myself. Not that complicated. I did not need any major parts just bearing and seals. Cost about $75.00. Tractor has 170 hours it since and turbo is doinf fine. Most injection shops do turbos also.

I have a couple farm tractors with what seems like a lot of blowby. They start well and pull good. As long as they are not blowing out a lot of oil I am not concerned about them. As stated above some engines just have more blowby than others.
