    If you don't have any 12V taps at all (simple single wire jumper from high negative post to low positive post), it's likely one battery has bad cells. Separate them and measure the voltage - if either is under 11Volts it has a bad cell(s). You can try charging it but use a load tester on it...

    If you read the lengthy explanation, you'll see that in a 24V system the resistor draws the upper 12V and the glow plugs draw the lower 12V, so doing a resistor bypass on a 12V only truck actually results in the exact same draw on that lower battery's power.

    Good man, make sure the foundation is solid before building the house... Yes, you should put in a ground return wire for heavy continuous loads, steel has about 20% the conductivity of copper (or 5x the resistance), and the frame is an imperfect conductor already, rivets bonding components...

    It's needed for 24V, not 12V. Lengthy explanation here. If it's still installed on a 12V system, your plugs will never burn out - of course they will be running at around 6V instead of 12V, so they'll never get to temperature either...
