Looking forward to seeing you, Zout. Are you sure you're not driving a steam locomotive?? I can almost envision a party of Apache Indians chasing you across the plain. Funny.
We'll keep watch for you and hopefully nothing goes too terribly wrong. For gosh sakes be careful.
I'm planning on leaving the house about 8:00-8:30 tomorrow morning so I can be at the 57th Fighter Group a little before 10:00. If any of you Canton/Cartersville/Woodstock guys want to convoy together, let me know. My planned route takes me over to Roswell via Hwy 140 and then down to Clairmont Rd.
I've got the cookout on my calendar. There's some talk of me being needed to lead a group of FJ Cruisers over at Durhamtown that same weekend but it is not nailed down yet. I'll be at the cookout if I possibly can. Is the cookout a rain or shine event?
I was looking forward to meeting you and getting another good look at that truck of yours, but I understand and appreciate your faith, Papabear. Maybe next time.
It is planned for SUNDAY morning simply because that's when my son and I usually go. We can change it to Saturday if that fits better for more people. I'm flexible.
If we need to change it to Saturday to accomodate have the most people and trucks, then let me know. I don't want to...
I thought I would bump this thread to see who was still on for the breakfast meet-up next SUNDAYthe 11th. I know fuel prices have gone crazy so that may be a factor in some of your plans.
As of now, my son and I are still planning to be there. The weather forecast is decent for next Saturday...
Wow, its a stormy night in Georgia! UPS and FedEx were good to me today, so I had several goodies waiting for me when I got home from work.
Before the weather deteriorated, I got the remote air-drain valves installed, though I still have some work to do to be happy with the cable securing and...
So, here a some photos of the the fuel return line repair from last night. The original rubber hose and the dented/crimped original copper line are in the first photo. It was leaking from the connector where the rubber hose joined the copper line.
I drove the truck to work this morning...
While I'm waiting for the new turn signal relay to arrive, I fixed the leaking fuel return line. At some point in Betty's past, something got tangled in those lines and pulled a pretty severe kink in the copper line and the rubber hose was cracked and dripping fuel. That hose was tagged 5/72 so...
No particular brand of ATF. I just use whatever they have on the shelf, but your just burning it. Its not like you intend for it to protect your transmission for 30,000 miles. You mainly want the high detergent and lubricity. I personally have used ATF to clean out and clean up fuel systems on...
I use Sea Foam liberally in all of my gasoline engines. It works wonders for cleaning out gunked up fuel systems. I don't recall ever using it in one of my diesels, but I'm not sure why I haven't. I do use Lucas in my diesels and always with good results. I've also discovered the power of ATF in...
Thanks very much for the info. I just talked to Mac at egauges.com and he confirmed that the parts referenced above for the pyro are correct. You do have to specify that you want 24V bulbs for the illumination. The gauge comes standard with 12V T-5 bulbs and you want R7783 24V bulbs. I also...
I'll search for it, Clinto. I'm curious if I might have missed anything. I'm certain it's the solid-state relay unit. I checked resistance from the ground point on the fender to the body, frame, and engine block and the return path is solid. I ran a temporary ground jumper to the engine block...
Ok, I have to take back that last assessment of the man with the mystery truck. I drove by there is afternoon and he threw up a hand to wave as I passed. I turned around and went back to meet the man and we had a nice chat. He's a great guy and he's here on SS. I could swear he said "cbarnett"...
Well, looks like I'm buying a new flasher relay. I fixed the wiring, cleaned the bolt hole locations, verified there was good supply voltage and verified a good ground/return path and the relay won't flash. I get a constant "ON" with the turn signals activated. The relay module is cracked and...
I stopped by that guys house on Saturday afternoon but he didn't answer the door. The truck was there as was the other vehicle and there was smoke coming from the chimney but all I got was dogs barking at me. I get the feeling that he is not very social, but I'm going to try again in the next...
