    Blown Head Gasket

I tore down a multi over the holidays which had a leak on #1 cylinder. The head nuts were all noticeably looser in this area. I know that the new gaskets don't need to be re-torqued. But, would it hurt anything to do so?

    Blown Head Gasket

It appeared from your post that you were suggesting that the multi was a redesign of the tractor engine and that they were pushing the rpm ratings and horsepower compared to the tractor engine when designed. The multifuel was specifically designed for the application as a multifuel military...

    Blown Head Gasket

This is complete misconception. The multifuel was a nearly complete redesign of a Continental series of engines; NOT a redesign of a tractor engine; and NOT a modified gas engine. The tractor came decades later. The engines from which the multi was derived had similar horsepower and operating...

Ways to make a deuce quieter and warmer in the cab.

My son and I took my bobbed deuce to a local tractor show. I have full rear exhaust and we were able to drive at 55 mph without ear protection and converse without yelling at each other; just speaking in a loud voice. When we drove into town, I began to hear this obnoxious racket. I thought...

    Nylon Radiator Fan?

I'd be curious to know if they are any quieter.

road draft tube / slobber tube

Many gas engines had positive crankcase evacuation systems at least as far back as the 1940s. This was the first environmental control implemented and started in California.

    Change turbo on a m35a1 to a C turbo from a m35a2

The turbo part number for the late LDS427-2 is 109126384 / 4D454C. If you search, you can find one on a popular auction site using 10912638. Looks to have an archaic turbine design.

    M35 Fuel Pump

None of the new ones that I have purchased from ebay made anything but a whirring sound.

Axle wrap with a bobbed deuce?

Don't flex too bad. The fan was into the side of the radiator. Thankfully the fan belt was a little loose.

    Split brake system

Out of curiosity, what caused the failure?

Another M35A2 Tractor Conversion With A Major LDT-465-1C mods

It played a small part in it. They were new injectors from "Memphis Equipment" not recommended. Still not following how timing caused or contributed to the failure of the injector. Who is the manufacturer of the injectors?

    Replacement nuts for head studs

A good overview can be found here: http://www.fastenal.com/content/feds/pdf/Article%20-%20Screw%20Threads%20Design.pdf

    Replacement nuts for head studs

Fastenal has a line of grade 9 nuts with Ecoguard coating that withstands 1000 hours of salt spray. However, the thread class is 2B.

Another M35A2 Tractor Conversion With A Major LDT-465-1C mods

OK, it was just a injector failure; nothing to do with timing.

Another M35A2 Tractor Conversion With A Major LDT-465-1C mods

It takes 3k+ psi to open an injector; how does an engine develop enough combustion pressure to force it open and damage both the injector and line?

    Replacement nuts for head studs

    Thanks. It's a 3B.

    Replacement nuts for head studs

I am doing head gaskets on an LDT and thinking about replacing some of the rustier nuts. Anybody know what class of threads the stock nut has? 2B, 3A or ?

REO OA331 - Looking for Water Pump to Engine Block Gasket

Yes, it is an OH200. A very nice engine. They seem hard to find but I do know where a few new ones are. Hard to say on fuel consumption; probably depends more on load than anything else. The guy I bought it from had one in a Reo truck that he drove on the interstate to truck shows. I don't...

REO OA331 - Looking for Water Pump to Engine Block Gasket

I've had good luck with Olsons for my reo 400. However, it should be easy to make a gasket this simple.
