Just about a week short of 2 years since I started this thread. She is just about buttoned up but I thought I would post some photos of the my GPW when I got here home. I will follow with the finished product photos next. So here goes.......

Absolutely outstanding work.

Looks to be in great shape. If it has all the parts ( engine, tranny, t/c ect.) I would go for it.

Make sure you get the right head gasket for that particular block. There are several types and if you do not get the right one it will leak coolant like crazy.

One suggestion. Besides carefully marking anything you remove as to what and where, I suggest you take a picture of each item before removed. Many times it takes much longer than you anticipate to get back to something and the visual record is invaluable. After restoring 4 vehicles I speak...
