Ever find out what the cause of the popping sound was, or the solution to your issues???? I'm having similar issues including popping sounds coming from the exaust/intake(at idle and under load) and elevated EGT's. Turbo output already tested ok, I'll try the other suggestions posted previously...
Installed mine last night and this is what I've learned..... Marine Goop does not look like it's going to hold for a permenant fix and use smaller rivets, I used 3/16 ones and it was almost impossible to reinstall the top into the channel. I saw this morning where others used 1/8 rivets, I wish...
Just repaired mine using the info here and a couple other threads. I used the marine GOOP for adhiseive (the best I could get locally) and rivets. I'll see how it holds up.
So where are those lift blocks going in the front if they're not going between the axle and the spring (which is a BAD idea)? Or are they spring mount relocator blocks?
No need to premix in the filter station but it does thin it out a little in mine and make it flow faster thru the filters. I really like the fact that you used the MV filters, but you need to filter finer than 6 microns. I filter down to 2 microns useing WIX filter #??? I'll have to look at it...
Wow good thinking with your homemade scribe tool! This looks to cost a little less than some of the other adapters due to not needing so much extra grade 8 hardware to aquire, am I right?
Yep, in the back straight up or so I was thinking. If I mount it at a little bit of a lean to the left it would keep it from scrubbing the post coming up so much(and keep bloody deer off it a little more). That might be a good idea.... As far as swinging it into the bed I've not come up with...
Well aware of these point that's why I bought one, and I don't recall anything in the manual about double clutching but I may be wrong..... My comment was on topic and not really ment as a question.
Your Ford rant and percived disparaging remark was entirely off topic and uncalled for as did...
The lift that you started with is what I was really looking for and would have mabey been easier to mount and it piviots, but I got this one at a deal and it was in town.
As far as mounting I was thinking to mount it to this...
Well mabey I shouldn't have limited my search to just the M35 section....I'm learning all the time guys aua
@ 11Echo That's a good looking hoist, what's it wiegh and capacity? Any ideas on how your going to mount it?
@ gungearz any pics of their set up by chance?
The plate on the bottom of the crane will hold, he's refering to the actual sheet metal that makes up the bed floor. I't not strong enough and will flex alot and possibly tear with much leverage it will be exerting on the floor. The frame is lots thicker, stronger, and less likely to flex.
I'm...
I've been kicking around building a removable hoist to pickup and remove my 395 spare from the bed and this is what I've come up with. I'm installing a trailer hitch on my truck and plan on mounting this crane to a adustable pendulm hitch reciver, minus the pendulm. No swivel, just lift push it...
