Good day, good people
I broke even on what I sold to what I bought ( and traded for ). Deuce ran great and I got alot of compliments on it, even from some of the jeep guys [thumbzup]
Yes
That was the first dome light I bought and it was missing the handle so I removed the old switch and put in a three position switch, I never had a chance to try it as I bought another dome light that was complete so I used that one in my deuce. The three position switch fits in the case just...
Heck
Back in 1997when I flew up to Virginia to pick up my first deuce from Tactical truck he picked me up at the airport in his cucv and it had 180k on the clock and still ran strong, Check the wheel bearings and repack them , check the u-joints., Change all the fluids and happy motoring
I e-mailed one of the club officers and asked what qualifies as a vendor so we'll see what response I recieve., In the meantime I'll go dust off my deuce and load up some stuff to sell Saturday.
( Still looking for a green cargo cover.)
No its not the same viscosity as gallon containers, rattle cans are reduced quite a bite more. Spray a rattle can of gillespie on a artist brush and you'll see how much thinner it is compared to dipping it into a gallon can of the same stuff even when its been reduced 4 or even 3 to 1.:wink...
The cans have always been a issue
You need to shake the can quite a bit before using, of course it'll still clog
Heres a quick fix thats worked for me, pull the spray tip off the can and you'll notice a slit on the neck, that's where the paint come's up from the valve in the can and to the tip...
Algae is just a slang for the Fungus that grows in diesel fuel, its correct name is Cladosporium resinae
or H.U.M.BUGS (Hydrocarbon utilizing microorganism ) Its starts with moisture in the tank and spreads, especially when the vehicle sits for long periods of time
I thought Fred already did the tranny in the Bulldog ?,,well at least the Stuart is near the shop as a reminder of who's next on the to do list .
Freds M-62 is gonna earn its keep with that project
If it were me
I would etch it first ( blasting or chemical ) any of the box stores carry "Prep and etch" ( usually over where they keep the paint thinners). then I'd use a zinc phosphate primer ( or chromate if you can find it ) which I was lucky to find at a local aircraft supply company ( any...
Delco A202 or NAPA AL869 is listed in my army vehicle parts book for MB's to M-37s. I've used the AL869 in my 6v WC-21 and in my 24v M-37 so I would say your safe to use a 12v cond in a 24v system
If you can find it "Spray 9" is a fantastic degreaser ( some auto parts stores ) or driveway cleaner from one of the box stores works pretty good also ( usually found over where they keep the pressure washers ).
I know there alot of Georgia members near me so I figured I'd throw this out there
The 13th annual Inman Farms Heritage Days is coming up on Sept 16th-18th.
Its bacicly a old tractor and hit and miss show but I got invited back to display the deuce along with a open invitation for any other mil...
Carnac I like Oreilys also but
If you find that you need to deal with napa again
I've had great service from Don or Denny at the NAPA store in Fayetteville ( County Auto Parts 770-461-1281 ), they have three stores, stay away from the one in Peachtree city ( their only talent is giving stupid...
