Very nice stuff! Maybe someday I'll take a ride down and see it in person. I think in Sept. I have to go to New Milford to pick up a boat trailer for my father. I'll have to check to see if it is even close to Norwich.
bottleworks,
The short was a bad brake light switch. The switch was leaking badly so I pulled the connector, turned on the lights and all was well. Have got the airpack and the switch replaced but now the master cylinder is leaking around the boot. So, have one coming monday.
RE: Re: RE: Old topic-new question
In conjunction with this thread, does anyone have a civvie brake light switch application that will work on the hydraulic side of the system? The reason that I ask is that my switch is the "dead short" in my lighting circuit.

Lee, I had a brief chance to pop under the truck with the new airpack and it looks as though it should plumb up no problem. Thanks for the offer of more pics but I think I don't need any right now. But as you well know, things arn't always as they seem, sooo...
You are absolutely right 4X4. If the common person could afford it, that picture would have been taken in MY driveway, not the owners. If I recall correctly, the price is in the 3k and change range.
Rizzo, I have no idea if it is a proper electrical term or not, but it is just what I have always called a situation where you have a hot wire in contact with something (usually ground) that causes sparks and an instantaneous blown fuse or breaker. More properly, it would just be called a short...
Does anyone have a TM lead that shows a picture of the newer style airpack installed? I think to do the swap some additional parts may be needed, such as a support for the back end, etc.
Thanks,
BC
So today I started at the positive terminal of the battery to trace power right through the system to find out what was wrong. Didn't take long. Found #10 wire cooked right at the terminal lug where it attaches to the magnetic starter relay. Had to chase around town for a proper connector to...
Thanks Lee,
Kinda what I thought, but wasn't sure. Am having trouble with my brake light switch leaking and also I think I am getting brake fluid on the wrong side of the plunger so I got a new airpack like the one you describe for $125.00 from a friend to install.
Thanks for the tips guys. Haven't had a chance to check it out anymore yet due to work and Planning Board and Zoning Board meetings tonight. Will get after it tomorrow some and post any finding if there are any.
Sunday, while on a short drive to get the truck up to temp to circulate water as part of a system flush, I lost all electrical power with a pop from the battery area. Assumed it was the main battery ground so cleaned it all up and put it back together. I have power at the slave cable socket, the...
