Howard, You gave up to quick with the asking everyone if their a S/S member. I was down Saturday listening and looking for a guy with a British accent. I guess It will be easier if I drive 3 miles up the road and stop in your place to finally meet. Doug

New Jersey April 26 and 27th, 2014 Military Vehicle Show and Swap Meet.

May have the wife talked in to going. Never been there before and plan on driving my M1009 down from central NY Saturday morning and returning Saturday evening. Do we park in the main lot as a visitor or are we allowed to park in the display area for the day as a short time visitor?

What should I use to fill seam cracks in rear fiberglass cap?

If your talking about the seam between the fiberglass top and the truck body you should try urethane windshield caulk like I did. For more information search for water leaks and I responded #7 post on the process. I would add the direct link to the thread but haven't figured how to yet. The...

    1943 Federal dump truck

I still plan on getting a few photos if they still have it for sale. I haven't been by that way since the beginning of winter and the wife is giving me a little resistance. She wants her new kitchen first but she did say I can paint it green.

    New CUCV Owner

You said he was a good friend? It looks like you may have bought yourself a parts truck with all the parts missing.

    water leaks

Pick up a few tubes of the urethane caulk at a glass shop that replaces windshields. They have the good commercial quality.

    water leaks

I had water leaks in my M1009 cap also. I knew I would never remove the top so I took my utility knife and cut the old gasket from the outside. I then caulked the seam with black urethane windshield caulk, smoothing it out with plastic spoons before it cured. I left the excess caulking ridge...

You must still be in a drought alert done there. If so I'll send some fresh snow down to you; I do accept PayPal

M1009 - Winshield wiper blades not touching glass to clean - bend or reset?

You Texans must head north more often. In upstate NY we don't even use or wipers on a cold winter day.

Thanks for the link Steve. I researched it last knight and ran across that same photo. That is the same truck but the one I'm looking at is green with a lot of painted duck tape holding the windshield s in place.

    1943 Federal dump truck

Thanks for the welcome. The green bug started with a "chance" purchase of a 86 M-1009. I bought it back in 2011 for a beater and daily driver but went too far with it to use as a beater. Added a few extras including antennas, mounts with brush guards, jerry can, body work and plenty of...

    1943 Federal dump truck

Give me a break, I'm still new at this. Ill try to snap a few photos this week if the snow doesn't cover it up first. Besides I don't own it yet and I don't want the price to rise if I show to much interest. The owner says it runs. I saw a lawnmower gas can hooked to the carb with a rubber hose...
