RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Cheap 5-ton tractors in VA
Rusty and not done, sounds like my 923 and it'll be there. It'll prolly still have DRMO painted on the sides in red paint ;)
Wow, more and more cool truck keep showing up here every day! Awsome truck Tatra813. Too bad you are way out there in WA. I'd love to see it first-hand!
Great idea! You are now the proud owner of a deuce "Refer" as the truckers call them. Call up your local butcher and see if they have a need for off-highway meat delivery ;)
I think you'll have to order a whole new cable. If it is like the one on my 923A2, I believe the handle is crimped into position. Mine has "EMERGENCY ENGINE STOP" on the end in red letters. If you have the Parts & Tools manual for the truck, let me know what the NSN is for the cable. If it...
Thanks Kenny. It's definitely a cash saver and very satisfying to do it yourself, as you well know ;)
Bjorn, thanks for the tip. I save the fittings for later. I had a hose I pulled out of a junker. It was about twice as long, which was good since it got it out of harm's way. My local Napa...
Man, that truck is going to be beautiful! So was the first healight configuration a non-stock change by the previous owner? I like the way you have it now. Is that semi-gloss OD?
Good thunkin Kenny! I should have thought of that by now, but I guess I had a bunch of other stuff to do anyways ;) It was a busy saturday for me. The weather was beautiful and contributed to a nice sunburn on my back and neck. I'm like a Quizno's sub, toasty!
I did find out that the diffs...
Well, crap, the UPS man just left my office and my box of spindle nuts/lock washer wasn't among the other packages. :( So, I guess it won't be on the road until next week sometime. Arggh, the suspense is killing me!
I still have to pump the diffs and t-case full of oil. I can go ahead and...
BIG trucks prolly use a similar sized nut on tie rod ends, ball-joints, etc... You could try taking the lunette with you to a NAPA Truck Parts store and see if they can match it up. Or, where I used to live in WV, there was a place called Smith Fastener. They had every type of nut and bolt...
Thanks Kenny. It is a pretty exclusive club :) To think I almost bought that rattle-trap M108. Thank goodness my good sense prevailed!
Man, that's perfect Bjorn. Course, I don't see me doing any major projects for quite some time. Just getting this one up and moving has worn me out ;)
