    M1078A1 fuel starting issue

Yep, thats it, they made it real easy on the 3116 with a 1/8” npt port. Had an old oil pressure gauge from the junk drawer hooked up in a few minutes… IMO, this is something everyone should check whenever you change filters… or install a dedicated gauge… I don't think I can possibly count...

For those that need to set the rack on a 3116

Yep, there are a couple ways to do this that do not involve the very expensive and hard to find cat tools…

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Yea thats a lotta weight… have you taken individual axle weights? Balance too far outta wack will really show tire wear running a single CTIS pressure across all 3 axles… ”Your junk is big and heavy” Waaaay TMI…:)

    M1078A1 fuel starting issue

Yep, on the rear of the main filter. I just had someone share a video with me of their 3126 fuel pressure problem, sampled from aft of the fuel filter. Getting ~15 psi at idle and barely passing over 30PSI at 2000RPM, so something is wrong in their neighbor hood…:(

    M1078A1 fuel starting issue

It should be farther to the rear. the test port should be on the line between heui lift pump and secondary filter(metal pipe/line). They usually have test ports at the input and sometimes at the output of the secondary filter, which is near the back of the cylinder head In the LMtV install…...

    M1078A1 fuel starting issue

Primary pressure is created by the fuel lift pump in the HEUI pump. There should be a T fitting on the hard line between the HEUi pump and the main fuel filter. Mine was an 1/8NPT Port with a pipe plug screwed in. You can use a simple mechanical oil pressure gauge but you need a needle...

What year and model truck do you have?

    M1078A1 fuel starting issue

OK, sounds like it mostly held its prime, now you need to hookup a primary fuel pressure gauge to insure the lift pump is doing its part. Should have ~10PSI when cranking, ~25 at idle, ramping up to 60 by around 1200 RPM… You could have a perfect prime but if the lift pump isn’t pressurizing...

Just won an auction - M1088A1

You might also find you want to go a more conventional air quick disconnect route. Such as a male disconnect on a ball valve off of the wet tank. This will allow you to use conventional airlines and fitting to run air tools if needed and to pressurize the system from an external source which...

    M1078A1 fuel starting issue

Primer primer primer! Won’t start, push the primer. How does it feel? If you pump it rapidly, you can build 10 PSI of primary pressure with the primer. If it is properly maintaining prime, you should be immediately able to feel the resistance caused by the regulator when you press the primer...

Starting an LMTV in the cold is like

Are you sure the primary fuel system is holding a prime? After it has set overnight, or a day or two, reach in under the cab and push the primer bulb with your hand until it is firm. If it has held its prime, it should be firm/high resistance from the first press on the bulb as the path...

    LMTV registration in WA state

I had no gymnastics whatsoever in Port Angeles just a few months ago. Took under 10 minutes with the EUC paperwork from the auction for my 1079.... It will get registered as a "commercial vehicle, not for commercial use" and a 4 wheeler will have a max 26,000 GAVW... Not sure if they uprate...

    Manual CTIS, electric over pneumatic.

Was asked to start a separate discussion and a manual ctis drawing. we already had a thread on it so I revived that with a current diagram. it is also in my videos on youtube linked in this discussion. basically pin H is 24v. Pin R is control, pin B is inflate and pin C is deflate. You...

Or if you pick up a mouse along the way they may take the seat cover material for their nest... I found most of my drivers seat cover in the dash under the instrument panel when i got it home from the auction yard.

    LMTV no power to cab

As long as you never make a mistake connecting batteries or jumpstarting, the PPD can remain bypassed. This could also be as simple as a bad connection at the PPD. Since it is out in the weather, it is not an uncommon occurrence...

Just won an auction - M1088A1

Should be a twisting lock, I have one in my basement. less than a 1/4 turn counter clockwise to unlock, then pull straight off… As mentioned the red sw is a remote battery disconnect, same as the one under the cab on the pax side with the remote ign and start switches…

Is that the original green shaft tube? Can you measure the wall thickness with a vernier calliper?

Starting an LMTV in the cold is like

Ether in itself is not a problem, it is just a clean gaseous more easily combustible fuel on top of the fuel that is already being injected. it is when it is overused and the full length of the intake plumbing is filled with it, that you have the over-revving/damaging runaways that do harm. an...
