I bought an OTC puller and it worked great, but I have one that would not come out. I just replaced the seven and one day I will have to pull a head or do it when I rebuild the engine.
Here's one I helped a friend get from GL. He took it to a community college and had them paint it. Nice truck and paint job, but the brown they used turned out orange. He's happy with it.
Congrats. Hope you enjoy. I hated these trucks when I was enlisted and once I found out I could buy one, I just had to have one.
Just curious if you have driven it on to your Military base? If so do the MP's or any higher ranking Officers raise an eyebrow? Are there any Deuces still in service...
Deuce Eyes
I bought foam board at office supply and painted the eyes on. Copied the eyes off of Sarge from the Pixar movie Cars. My 3 year old loves the movie and loves the Deuce so I thought I would make it even more fun for him.
Got bored over the Holidays and decided to add a little character features to the Deuce. Thought the kids would enjoy it and it would make for a good conversation piece while parked.
I built the 1/72 kit. I think it was some kind of cruel joke because the parts were so miniscule that my big ape hanger hands broke or lost half of the parts. My wife and daughter got a kick out of watching me struggle with it.

Be sure to grease the center yoke between the two u-joints. I replaced all of mine and did not grease the little center ball yoke. When I was driving down the hiway with fronts locked in, the ball socket got hot, disintegrated & grenaded the transfer case. Oh yah and don't drive down the hiway...
I have mine insured through Progressive, but it is a Commercial Policy. Don't think that has anything to do with it as far as the CUCV, but I did have to have the Deuce under my commercial policy.
Does anyone have the torque specs for Rod & Main Bearings on an M35A2? Also, is it possible to R&R a crank, main & rod bearings out the bottom of the engine?
Thanks for any help
Anyone know where I can find a clutch and pressure plate for an M35A2? Pulled the trans today to find mine was severally abused and in need of replacing.
Don't want to be another salesman, but I have a Deuce with a bad motor for sale if your interested. Its a really straight truck if you want to put a motor in it. I can send pics if interested.
I work on aerial boom trucks that use various styles of pumps. I do not like the electric as they are slow and require batteries. The trucks I work on typically use a clutch pump, usually made by Harper Industries out of Harper KS. AKA Deweese. They are relitively small and very reliable. I...
