Congrats Glen! Welcome back to the Deuce world! I still feel bad for taking your old one away from you, but it's sitting comfortably in my driveway in the shade of the trees! Let me know if there's anything I can do for you from this direction!
Same thing happened to me as I was recovering the deuce I just bought from 91W350. I took the mechanism out when i got it home and the little spring that makes the door latch had broken. I found one on TNJMurray.com and had it fixed as good as new! only cost me about $40 if I recall correctly...
I wasn't trying to start a fight here. Like its been said before, you don't know me, and I don't know you. I just know what I've seen, and I do know that MV's are more dangerous than purpose built trucks. That's why our depts go through extra training with the military for them to drive them...
Whats with all the NFPA BS? I assist with several volunteer fire departments in my area and we love seeing the old MV's in action. They will drive circles around any non MV vehicle, and they will keep the firemen just as safe, if not safer than any NFPA approved stuff.
Yes, Kroil is my #1 choice, but the local truck parts store that has stocked it for years just suddenly decided that they didn't want to stock it anymore and went with PB instead... PB is good, but I've seen Kroil work on things that PB wouldn't even budge. As for the tires; they have good...
Its the rear pass side inner dual...you got them tight when you put them back on! I had to jump so hard on the wrench that I had to turn it over and bend it back into place! aua I got the lugs off though. Just not the studs....yet...
Funny you should mention PB blaster.... I had an inner dual go flat on me today on your old deuce and spent all evening soaking the lugs with PB blaster. Finally after a few hours of soaking, and jumping on the lug wrench, they came right off! Now I'm soaking the studs overnight because it got...
Haha I was having a brain fart and couldn't remember how to spell your last name when I was at the PO, so I figured you would like Buddy Gunner!
I will definitely keep you up to date! The drivers door is now fixed and will stay closed thanks to parts from TNJ Murray! I'm going to take the...
Ah I forgot about the seat cushion! Thanks man! Did you get your plate yet? The postal service here can be rather slow...
(haha the deuce is mine, but like I said you can come drive it anytime! I am kinda interested in a winch though... Hmm...)
Haha Glen, I'm sorry but you aren't getting your truck back! I'm kinda falling in love with it myself... As for the smoke, I will turn it down or get a pyro eventually, but for now I'm not running it real hard and I've grown partial to the smoke, so I'm just going to leave it as is for now...
Yeah, that's another reason I want to figure the smoke problem out. I would like to solve it without a pyro if possible and try to keep the truck as stock as possible.
Hey all, the deuce I bought from 91W350 is great, but it smokes like a freight train! (Not that I mind it, but the neighbors might start complaining:shock:) Anyways, I looked at the sticky about turning up the IP, and it looks like it is set at the factory setting, but there is a placard stating...
Wow thank you guys! It does make sense now! I'm thinking about putting a separate alternator and battery in to run a 12v system. I don't want to run anything big but a few lights (which I guess could be considered big), and charge my cell, etc. I definitely won't take power off one battery now...
Ok, I've done a lot of searching on the site and I know it's not a good thing to take the voltage from one of the two batteries to use for 12 volt accessories, and I need to get a converter, equalizer, etc... But I have yet to find the reasoning behind why it's bad. I'm not an ace at searching...
My local insurance agent called me this afternoon and told me that her underwriter came through, and now I have insurance for $17 a month!
It's now tagged and ready to drive, but it's 114 outside and I don't want to fry in the cab! Come on Fall!!!!!! aua
Beats me. They sent me a quote form to fill out via e-mail, and it states that their insurance is only for parades, shows, etc. Maybe I called the wrong department?
Hey I picked up my deuce this last weekend! 91W350 sold me an awesome deuce in great shape! If you happen to drive through the panhandle of Oklahoma and go through a town called Shattuck, hollar at me! I would love to see two of these things sitting in my driveway! Theres also a guy in town who...
