I think you should listen to Dewie38 [post#2]. You can buy 831's way cheaper than a new inverter and you would have a parts machine as well.

It would be a shame to lose a valuable resource. How is a "sticky" created? Can anyone do it?

The screen on my unit was clogged with something that looked like ground up kleenex. The engine only had 2.2 hours on it. I had to change the oil 6 times to totally clear it. The head nuts were also very loose causing a minor oil leak.

The best way to find parts on Ebay is to follow Guyfang's advice and search using the NSN. They are often on the site but not listed by the generator name.
