I think it’s ok. You see towbars set up like that all the time in wartime photos. Your 08 is looking real good btw, I really like that you have the cargo enclosure set up. That is a ton of scrounging and work.

Get a start time delay module for your A/C compressor, a 24 volt coil 30 amp contactor for the water heater, when your A/C thermostat calls for cool, the 24 volt signal needs to immediately drop out the water heater contactor, then seconds later the compressor contactor energizes.
Good deal! They call the innertube shield the "flap". Next time don't break both beads before you remove the lock ring, just do the lock ring side first, then pop the ring off, then flip and do the other side. It's easier to pop the ring off when only one bead is broken. LOL who needs the...
