I got that catalog as well. A few of the books caught my eye, but when I went to their website most prices were higher than listed in the catalog. The few books I liked are cheaper elsewhere. The fact that their brand new Jeep book catalog didn't even get prices right turned me off, and I even...
I'll take cold any day over GA heat, but I'm a northern fella (dam yankees:D).
Another factor to consider is the time change, don't set the rally past 1 NOV. This early darkness is throwing me off...
German tactics were based on a lot of factors, but don't misunderstand me. The Wehrmacht led the way early on when it came to air-ground integration. Conditions were right for the Luftwaffe for a significant part of the war. Long-lasting air supremacy or air superiority permitted the Luftwaffe...
The antenna was fixed in place. It didn't flip up or anything like that. It's a high-frequency (HF) antenna, commonly referred to as a "frame" or "cage" antenna. There were multiple variations depending on the vehicle, but ultimately the Germans made great use of HF throughout the war for both...
There is no "2nd reserves" unit, and there are no corps size signal units. There are probably numbered companies and a headquarters and headquarters company (HHC) under the 454th Chemical Battalion. Reserve Regional Readiness Commands (RRC) have all sorts of units under them. RRCs replaced...
Heh, not surprising. I've probably met more "former special forces/delta/black ops/seal/ranger" veterans than any other military occupational specialty. Apparently our military had FAR more SOCOM types serving in the past. Also funny how they can never tell you specifics about their service...
I favor the response, "That's a shame your truck didn't work out for you when you owned one" ... "Oh, I see so you've never owned a military vehicle?"
Or "If I wanted your opinion, I would have asked for it."
Everybody seems to have anecdotes they believe constitute evidence about every piece...
My deuce recently appeared as a prop for a local haunted house. My buddy sat behind the wheel for the duration, I told him to eat a sandwich or something and stop scaring the kids.
They probably thought the Land Rover 101 FC was a Pinz. Easy mistake if you don't know, and there aren't too many of either around. The 101 FC I saw at the rally was the first I've seen in person in the US.
The DAGR can receive the L2 signal and the selective availability secure anti-spoof module (SAASM) make it more accurate and more jam resistant when the DAGR is encrypted. Civilian GPSs do not have that capability. DAGRs are compatible with HAVEQUICK timing, but it does not use HAVEQUICK...
DAGRs aren't CCI. They don't have HAVEQUICK crypto cards either. They are ITAR controlled items, but aren't quite as controlled as most folks believe. With that said I would not buy one on eBay.
I was the custodian of several owned by Uncle Sam. Great generators, exceptionally quite compared to the MEP-016B or D. I would call them underrated but not to the extent that MEP-803/PU-798 or larger TQGs are underrated. Don't expect miracles from a 3kw generator and you won't be disappointed...
