MilitaryRestoration, could you please tell me about the wheels on your M818? Those are the wheels I want and they do not look like a bolt-together combat wheel - are they HEMMT 2-piece (front) and 3-piece wheels (rears) ?
Thanks! It was one of those rare times when everything fell in place: "look at this truck - it's just how I would spec it if I were ordering one. That's my truck. Hey, it's located in my state. It has a clean title & collector plates. The overall condition is very good. That price is...
I bet one could use strong magnets to hold a boot in place over the pto lever so that you could still retain the lock out function of the hinged piece & keep it covered when not in use. Maybe a few magnets out of a starter?
Thanks for the link - those look like good pieces and are half the price of NOS.
It looks like they did put one on the winch control lever according to the TM and it might be the same part as the t-case boot...
that would help, wouldn't it? It's an M813 I want to find correct looking fasteners that have the right finish. Not quite black and definitely not shiny.
The data plate screws and others dash screws are a mishmash of original, random, and hardware store bright cadmium screws of all head types.

Couldn't find any clues from searches here but I did come...

This bulb socket had power to it regardless of the battery ON/OFF switch position so you wouldn't want to leave the...

For those who fought for it, FREEDOM has a flavor the protected will never know.
LOBO,
what does it take to get/build an '86 Kaiser M813A2?
I was thinking this was the case. However, the truck already had collector plates on it when I bought it so do you think I can skip the 1st year business and just maintain the existing collector plates and just change them into my name?
I'll find out next week - good or bad...
It looks like oshkosh equipment lists this bulb as 6 volt and others don't mention a voltage. Needless to say the 2.5 volt bulb that came with my truck was fried. What is the correct voltage? 24v?
Can I remove CARC from data plate w/o ruining the plate?
My cold start/glow plug switch data plate is painted over with what I believe is CARC paint and I want to remove it without removing the black off of the data plate.
Is the data plate simply a painted decal that will dissolve if I use...
