    303M HydraMatic rebuild

Years ago there was a custom hauler ag guy that took 211' or 135's and repurposed them for the lettuce harvest. The frame was cut and stretched for a custom bed, and the power plant was replaced entirely with a Caddy 501/turbo400 with a low 1st gear set. At the time, it made for a simple...

    Oil leak

Perhaps you might check the routeing of the vacuum & atmosphere lines for the several fording destinations, looking for improper connections. Also, pull the PCV valve and make sure it isn't plugged. G744

    M1082 bed

All the big trucks I've seen over many years had wooden strips (1X4) between the bed and frame. It was explained to me it allows torsion loads to occur without overly stressing the frame or load. G744

    M923A2 electrical issues.

May you not get stuck behind a group of Hells Angels with that...:ROFLMAO:

Front turn signal lights for the 708

The easiest and best deal is Gama Goat amber front lenses. They fit the original housings. https://shop.midwestmilitary.com/product/full-amber-lens/ They also come in red for the rear. G744 aka PoW

M923 year of truck vs year of engine

One of those MWO tags inside the door means the truck got seatbelts. G744

What have I done... Oshkosh P-19

I gave up on running HEMMT wheels tubeless. Leaks all the time. I cut a slot in the wheels, and run flaps & tubes. Haven't needed air in over 4 years now. G744

M54A2 New to me, can't shift it.

It may be the transition from standard facing to VelveTouch (bronze pucks) discs found in service now. I'm not certain about this. The new TO bearing was exactly the same as what came out. G744

M54A2 New to me, can't shift it.

Some clutch packages go together with not enough movement with pedal full depressed regardless of linkage adjustment. I found that with my A1 years ago when a new clutch went in. I had to lengthen the linkage a bit to get full movement. G744

    Hood lift handle

They were a MWO part, not original to the truck. G744

    Power Steering

The best one I ever saw some 40 years ago was a hydraulic torque amplifier unit mounted under the dash. It was on beefy homemade brackets, and the stock steering shaft was customized to fit. They used the stock steering box. I didn't get to see the pump/reservoir, but that would be academic...

DOD to use Cybertrucks as target practice here, because...

They are showing up as technicals in unfriendly places, used by unfriendlies... G744

    M38 pintle hitch

A strong ball is indeed better than a small one;) All the failures but one were due to crappy couplers on the trailers. The one was a ball sheared off in a hard braking incident, causing the tongue to come thru the back of a motorhome. Nah...

    M38 pintle hitch

Seen too many ball hitches fail. Never seen a lunette/pintle do that. My non-military trailers have all been converted to lunettes. It also really cuts down on guys wanting to borrow them...:sneaky:

    XM708 refurb

    Sounds like a good plan.

    XM708 refurb

Looks to me you have side risers with channels to accommodate the boards. If not, maybe there are reinforcements in the bed sides that would accept stakes that could be fastened to the boards. G744

    XM708 refurb

I hear you, I'm 72 now. I still have an M37 I got back in '72. I can still put my spare back on the door rack, just not as fast... G744
