I am not sure but I think the vacuum pump plugs in where a distributor should go on the cucv. The humvee has a sensor instead of the vacuum pump in the same position.
RE: Dolly Convertor Saga Continues
My grandfather has had it for years. It was getting tired so he replaced the pump and it still was tired. When I got it I got a new control valve combination and hooked it under the rear bumper of my F-350 with a metalworking flatbed. I picked up the whole...
RE: Dolly Convertor Saga Continues
The chassis looks like it is in good shape. Did you paint it or did it come like it is? This is another reason I love having my tractor with a loader. Makes this type stuff go so much faster. Looks like the project is moving along nicely.
I never have and have no knowledge of any type of accident. I think it would be more eventful if someone used one of the ether bottles for a propane torch. That would make for great TV for sure.
We would call them the small guns. The howitzers in question were the M102 and they only weighed about 3004 lbs. You would also have some weight in ammo and such. The M198 I was on had a 900 series five ton as a prime mover and it weighed 15,000 lbs.
I have the gizmo on my air compressor in my garage. It only lets loose when the tank pressure drops. It does not work as well as you might think. When you shut the compressor down and the pressure naturally drops the valve opens and it drains. You don't get the high pressure drain like opening...
Look under my picture folder and you will see what the cab reinforcement kit looks like. It is plate steel riveted on the interior of the rear of the cab.
There is no jamb switch on the cucv. It has to be added and should be to the front of the door frame. I think there is a small flat area on the door that will tell you where the hole for the switch should go. The flat spot is where the switch contacts the door. I will try to take photos and post...
Wow. Someone on the site actually used a wrecker to get the new addition home!!!!!!! And it wasn't even a military wrecker. I thought we were all too cheap. I know I am.
All kidding aside. Nice find. Now I want you to fix up one truck really good then reenact the scene from Rambo with the road...
The goats were the prime movers for 105mm towed howtizers until Humvee's took over the job late in the 80's. I never work on the small guns but all the artillery guys I worked with that had driven them really hated them. I would like one just to run around in but I never have had the chance to...
We had hard tops with the ring mount. You either sit down on the top in the middle of the ring or a guy in the bed operates it. Soldier B in the bed has a greatly reduced field of fire.
I got a 6.2 in the can for $70. I think it was F-7 or such. It had the toe tag and it said there was a striped fastener. It did not say where the fastener was but the intake was off and I would have to assume it was one of the intake to head bolts or such. I just buttoned it up and have not...
