    "car show winner"

First off, congrats to the award winners. Its great to see these vehicles taken out where people can enjoy them, and learn more about them and their history. I'm a "car guy" (used loosely, more into 4x4s and trucks than cars) and have my own opinions of what I like, favorite brands, etc. What...

Bought a Cummins for my m1008

Well obviously he has much less room to work with than I did...I just used my case as an example for why its important to take his time and plan it out. I got my designations mixed up and thought this was going into a M1009, was thinking his was a Blazer, which would have been much cheaper to...

Bought a Cummins for my m1008

Sounds like a fun project, but here's a few tips. First, don't listen to reports of $10k swaps. I did a more complex swap than this in my Durango, when I put a 4bt Cummins in it. Complete cost, including the donor bread truck and many new parts, was about $4k. The most expensive parts were the...

Clutch and Bellhousing needed for a 5.9 Install

I'm curious if anyone has come up with a flywheel part number. I still have my other parts for a Cummins 5.9 to Spicer trans conversion, and may be picking up a Deuce in the near future. I know there are a couple companies that do this, but they don't want to share their info. I would even buy a...

    M35a2 with 5.9 Cummins 13spdoverdrive trn.

Pics of my toy. Link below is to my Photobucket album of the buildup. http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd315/nhdiesel/Cummins%20Durango/P1010122.jpg?t=1217286343 Jim

    M35a2 with 5.9 Cummins 13spdoverdrive trn.

Pretty much any trans can be used behind a 4bt, using various adapters. My 4bt came with a Chevy adapter, so most GM transmissions would bolt up. It had a TH475 (commercial version of the 400) behind it. There are also Ford adapters. The Dodge flywheel housing bolts right up- the 4bt and 5.9 are...

Towing an M105 with civy truck

You won't have any problem doing them one at a time. Hopefully the hitch gets them close to level. I once towed my Dodge Ram Cummins 4x4, loaded with scrap steel in the bed, almost 15 miles with my '98 Cherokee (on a trailer). The truck was heavy enough that my trailer was sagging pretty bad...

    Example EUC

Nice thought, but it didn't work for me. After several tries faxing in my license for my first GL purchase, I finally e-mailed a very nice scan of it. It STILL took several tries before it was accepted as valid ID. Then for my second purchase, the same thing happened- several e-mails before...

    Deuce trans adapting

The 3053a will be great in a 715. I have one for my '96 Dodge Cummins, and will be using the same t-case- Ford version NP205, divorced. On the Spicer web site there are all kinds of options for mating the two. I think I'm going to go with a short intermediate shaft using either flanges or yokes...

    C8.3 4L80E NP205 swap

    1. The 8.3 should fit under the hood, its external dimensions aren't that much larger than the 5.9. Its extra weight comes from thicker castings, heavier crank, higher fluid capacity, etc. I know of at least a couple people who swapped them into Dodge Rams and they fit fine. 2. The 4l80e won't...

    Got it home, M818 pics

Those are directional, but the direction depends on the terrain. Look at the roght front tire- that is the direction you would want in mud or on hard terrain. In mud, it will self-clean (push the mud to the outside of the tire as it spins). The tire on the left front is what you would want for...

    Got it home, M818 pics

The Centramatics work great in a controlled environment, such as in a lab. But they have serious flaws on the street. The "balls" used for balance require that the wheel/tire combo spin with no outside forces acting on it. If you were running on the interstate down south with no bumps for miles...

    GL questions thread..

Sorry...this is where HOW something is said doesn't make it across the web, just WHAT is said. I didn't seriously mean that the times should be shorter...just that they are plenty long enough. The actual bidding time is plenty as well. Unless you are my father, who still doesn't get the online...

    GL questions thread..

I actually think the waiting time is too long. Although the actual biding is only for a couple days, the items are sometimes listed a couple months in advance (usually several weeks to a month or two), which gives lots of time to forget what you were interested in before the bidding starts...

    GL Trouble

I'm not sure I like what is happening here. I'm not big into MVs like most of the members on here, so my opinion really holds very little value...but maybe others might agree but just haven't posted yet. I thought this site was a forum for MV owners to openly discuss their vehicles, repairs...

Towing an M105 with civy truck

I would guess the weight at around 200 lbs., maybe less. I have one old style, and one new style, but it doesn't matter...they still have the same pivot and latch system, and my "new style" jack is frozen and doesn't adjust...most likely because the bonehead running the forklift in Maine bent it...

Towing an M105 with civy truck

Oh, and yes, you can pick up the tongue yourself. I have 2 of these, and thats how I move them around- pick up the tongue using both hands- once up, holt it in 1 and yank the release for the jack with the other. Set it down on the hitch. This morning we unhooked it with a load in the trailer...

Towing an M105 with civy truck

Don't let some of these guys scare you. The M105s tow very easily...just try to get it as level as possible. I towed 2 of them stacked 350 miles from northern Maine to northern N.H. behind a Durango with a 4 cyl. Cummins and 5-speed (otherwise stock) with no problems. My father and I just got...

    profit margin..

I was just skimming through the posts, so please excuse me if these things have been mentioned already. When considering the purchase prices for Deuces, factor in that for every X number of Deuces you buy in repairable/running condition for resell, you'll need to buy one for parts. No matter...

    Deuce at Stout Field

I'm not sure exactly when, but my father (Beaubeau on here) and I will be going there soon to pick up his trailer. We could take a look and see if the batteries happen to be charged. You should probably PM him and mention it...although I'm sure he'll see this thread. His EUC went to BC already...
