The front hatch/vent might be a good idea to put one in, it just might work on the side vents too.

It has an accy position.
All of my CUCVs had it, but I had to convince it to go into accy, as I doubt it ever got used...Once it went into accy., I cycled a couple times and worked fine after that.....
I made the same complaint on the very first CUCV I had and IIRC it was doghead that said...
I started on a 3D model of the interior....

285/75 can go on a 6.5" rim..... But they'd be more at home on an 8".... I get it..
I've had them on my M1031 and they were fine.
Had 33/12.5/15 on my M1009
Tons of people run 285/75/16.... without issue.

30+ year old shocks replaced on my mom's M1010....completely shot obviously... Only the rear, due to $$$.. But got an amazing deal on KYB Monomax shocks, were are a hair below the Bilsteins..... They normally cost ~$100 a piece but I picked them up for ~$60 a piece...

Here is a view of the ceiling with vents removed and wood removed. You can see cross beams of metal, and beam bolted to the cross member....along with wood that appears to be add'l support for the ducting. You can also see the insulation.

I went fro being able to stand up, with metal brushing my hair as I walked, to a good 3-4", and I haven't even got it down to where I want it yet...

So..
I'm gonna be using some galvanized flashing, 4", to close the gap, along with self tapping/sealing screws designed for flashing/roofs...
I'm also gonna get a ton of sealant, and seal the edges of the flashing, so water can't get in..

Well, I'm homeless now and have been living in it for a little over a month, and continuing the work...
There is a multi layered roof....
There is a frame, much like a connex, INSIDE the box, of which everything else is bolted or riveted onto. It's actually quite interesting. The work involved...
The first time you trip/pull the cord, and it rips wires out instead of just disconnecting the plug, you'd thank me.....
Also, you can take one of those newfangled 'electric car parking only' spots and piss the hippies off, and if anyone asks, it's a diesel-electric hybrid... It uses...
