If it was an item that wasn't for on road use your pretty much in the same boat. I would think a notarized bill of sale if you sell it out of state would allow the buyer the get a off hwy title. Hopefully you don't lose your butt
Several companies make a rust reformer. I think it chemically reacts with rust and somewhat neutralizes it, or maybe just slows it down. I used it on my flatbed and it worked. With only primer over it, 5 years later of snow and no rust signs.
As others stated. Check all fluid levels. I met a guy who bought a m923a2 with almost no miles on a rebuild. He found out on a drive home the transfer case was never filled with oil. Expensive tow bill. Good luck
